Premium Fusion Theme – Sleek and Hot!

I do a lot of theme reviews, each of them with their own unique style and audience. However, every once in a while a theme comes along that is destined to be popular with the majority. This latest release, Fusion, is one of those themes. Created by Larry over at Ahead of the Curve Designs, Fusion boasts sharp images, smooth design and awesome customized fonts…the likes of which we haven’t seen before. The Bold version of this theme, which I have tested, looks beautiful and works effortlessly. I’ll let Larry’s own description below tell you more:

Bell & Alltel Also Getting the BlackBerry Tour

Thanks to some great tipsters across the web it looks like both Bell Mobility and Alltel will shortly be getting the BlackBerry Tour. After we learned that both Sprint & Verizon are getting it this month it was no long leap of logic to assume Bell will get it and the divested Alltel markets.

So far it looks like the Bell BlackBerry Tour will drop on July 17th with no word on the Alltel Tour.

BlackBerry 8520 Curve Passes Through the FCC

8520-T-Mobile-brandedLooks like yet another one of RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry handsets has made a splash on the FCC website. The weird part is that RIM usually tells the FCC to keep these confidential until the device is announced…

Nothing really new to see here but that 8520 with its trackpad control just got one step closer to your pocket/holster. Hopefully T-Mobile will be pushing these out soon. I wonder how well they will compete against the 8900 Curve.

You can check out the documentation if you wish at this link.

Verizon Confirms Existing Customers will be able to Order BlackBerry Tour Tomorrow (Hopefully)

VerizonTour I just spoke to a Verizon spokesperson and got positive confirmation that existing customers will be able to upgrade to the BlackBerry Tour. They told me that there was a “minor glitch” in the system and they are working to let existing customers upgrade on the pre-order site by tomorrow (July 2nd).

They also confirmed that all customers will be able to purchase the phone on July 12th. So what are you waiting for? Keep refreshing your browser until tomorrow and let me know when it is available!

HOT! BerryReview Forums Beta Launched – Happy Canada Day!

It’s been a long time coming… Over the years many of you have asked for a way to discuss topics on BerryReview and requested that we add forums. We were listening but wanted to make sure that we do it right so we took our time.

Today I am proud to say we are ready to launch our BerryReview Forums Beta. The forums are not intended as competition to other forums but rather as a compliment to the news found on BerryReview. This new feature gives readers a chance to share their thoughts and ask question and assist other BerryReview readers while expanding our community. We get many questions, tips, rants, & reviews a day and this is a perfect medium to share those with all our readers and crowd source solutions.

Check it out at www.berryreview.com/forums/

BerryReview-Forums-Mobile Some things to know about the forums:

  • There is a mobile friendly version of the forums! Just visit from your BlackBerry
  • Your login is the same login you already have on BerryReview
  • All of your previous and future comments are accounted for in your profile. Some of you may be surprised at the number!
  • The forums are in a little different style than what you may be used to but BBPress definitely grows on you due to its simplicity.
  • Your avatar (profile image) is driven by Gravatar so if you already set one up you are good to go. If not set one up free at this link.
  • Currently there is no way to upload files due to a security issue. There is always photobucket and other options and if you need we can always upload the files for you if you email us.

I invite you to reply with any suggestions and comments you may have. Currently the forums are light on side features to ensure that we focus on the basics before we extend any further. Right now it is a place for discussing topics with your peers and I think the current setup is perfect for that. Expect this to evolve as time goes on.

Dive in, have fun, and let me know what you think!

PS: If you are having trouble logging in on both the forums and regular site please clear out all of your cookies and try again. Let us know if you run into the issue.

U2 Mobile Album Teaser Site – BlackBerry Really Does Love U2…

It has been long rumored that RIM named the Tour after a U2 sponsorship. It has almost been confirmed on multiple occasions but it looks like RIM is slowly getting less tight lipped. Joey over at BBNews spotted this teaser site on BlackBerry.com for the U2 Mobile Album. Its appropriately titled BlackBerry Loves U2…

I really have no idea what to make of it but it looks like they will be releasing a U2 app for BlackBerry. It will have news and some sort of location awareness telling you where your friends are. I thought that they were already doing that with the upcoming version of BlackBerry Messenger and Google Latitude but why not duplicate…

I want to know what a Mobile Album is. Will this album only be released for mobile devices? That does not seem to make much sense.

What do you think?

HOT! Free BerryReview Theme to Celebrate Our 2nd Anniversary!

BerryReview-Theme-Hedone

Wow! I can’t believe it’s already been two whole years since we launched BerryReview back in 2007! Since then, the site has grown from just me, to a team family of over 10 editors, writers, and reviewers…all of whom do this for the pure love of it. However, we wouldn’t be so successful without you, our readers, so we want to give you a BIG THANKS for making this site worth all the effort.

BerryReview-theme1BerryReview-theme2

In that spirit, we teamed up with one of the industry’s premier BlackBerry Theme Developers, HEDONE DESIGN to give our readers a special gift. Our own BerryReview Theme! Now, the rest of the team knows just how picky I am with themes, only changing my theme once a year (if that). I like sleek themes that function well and look sharp. We think you’ll agree that Hedone’s creativity hits the mark in every aspect. Not only was he great to work with, but he sure knows his stuff when it comes to designing themes. Vicky worked closely with Hedone and I think together they created something I am proud of calling a BerryReview theme.
