Timothy sent in this great deal that he found on RIM’s website. Turns out that LetsTalk is offering a free HS-655 BlackBerry branded Bluetooth headset with practically all of their BlackBerrys with a new contract. The nice part is the the BlackBerrys are also free (some with $50 rebates) which makes this a pretty good deal! Some of them come with a free 1GM memory card on top of the free Bluetooth headset.
LetsTalk is offering free BlackBerrys including:
- AT&T 8110 & 8310
- Verizon 8130, 8330, & 8830
- Sprint 8130, 8330, & 8830
- T-Mobile 8100, 8120, & 8320
Pretty sweet. Check the deals out at this link and let me know what you think.

Based on the interest in our previous post about BBSmart Alarms Pro I decided to mention that they have released a quick fix patch. Tom let me know that the new version 1.24 addresses a very annoying issue that came up in version 1.23. It fixes a bug where a snoozed alarm sent to the background using the ESC/Back key will sound but will not come to the foreground making it annoying to dismiss.
Some people rebooted their BlackBerrys to fix the issues while others used the task switcher to open the program and force it to exit from the menu.
The auto-update should be available from inside the application or you can download the new version OTA from:

Thanks Tom for the tip!

Well the guys over at The BoyGenius Report seem to be at the forefront of news once again! They just reported that the Verizon Storm has gone into Technical Acceptance.

From the BGR post;
Here’s our latest info on the BlackBerry Storm and the fate of the device on Verizon’s network: it just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and the device has been delayed internally by around 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks (read: buggy and unresponsive) and polish it up. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon. We’ve double confirmed that information, so it should be pretty accurate. Additionally, we heard from someone else that they’ve increased the marketing budget for the BlackBerry Storm just to give AT&T a little kick in the nuts for delaying the Bold so much. That’s not confirmed, still probably a little true, plus we got a chuckle out of that anyway.
Well lets hope the Verizon guys can get their act together and have this thing out for the holiday season. Maybe if I’m lucky, I will be sporting one for my birthday (beginning of November) Yea I know, but I can dream can’t I?

Talk about exciting news. Bplay just let me know that they have cut their prices significantly beginning this morning. These price drops will last for “an extended period of time at minimum” according to Bplay so there is no specific end date.
All of their top titles are now $6.99 with the exception of Guitar Hero Backstage Pass. The games created by Magmic are now $4.99 with some even going for $2.99! All themes are now $4.99 or less with the exception of the collegiate themes which are still $7.95.
Some examples:

I just got an email from Concrete software that they just released Civilization for BlackBerry. Talk about a flash from the past. I remember playing Civilization back in the day and I loved the game. I am curious to see if this adaptation lives up to the classic. The game is available now for a hefty $14.99 but don’t forget about our 15% off discount we are currently running on software. It’s nice to see that Concrete is offering a trial for the game so you can see how the game play is before you buy.
Game description:
The popular Civilization franchise comes to mobile phones with Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: War of Two Cities bringing the excitement of world domination. Defend the safety and development of your home city while at war with a neighboring city bent on your destruction. Armies will clash, defensive walls will crumble, great siege cannons will roar with fury, and the victor will plant his flag atop the tallest building in the city of his foe.
Features:
- A Sid Meier’s Civilization experience brought to the BlackBerry.
- Build and expand an empire with casual game format offering technology development, army building and combat to progress your civilization through the ages.
- New features and strategies present themselves as the player progresses through the game.
- Full campaign or quick play option.
- Statistics and high scores.
- Choose between 4 civilizations - USA, Rome, Japan, and Russia.
