We told you before that this was going to drop this week. Magmic ran a little behind schedule but this is sure going to be worth it. Even better is the fact that the game has a free trial! The bad side is that the game costs significantly more than the previous versions at $14.99. Still this game promises to really wow us with online multi-player features. Expect a review soon…
Texas Hold’em King 3 Connected – $14.99

The latest edition of the best Texas Hold’em mobile franchise, with fast and brilliant game play and networked multi-player tournaments. Join an online poker community of over 100,000.
Texas Hold’em King 3 is the latest installment in one of the most popular mobile poker franchises. This latest edition improves upon the franchise’s already fast, brilliant game play and adds improved multi-player features. Single Player Mode features a unique “Turbo Mode” that fast-forwards you to the end of a hand once you’ve folded. In Multi-Player mode you can play online against other mobile players. Through the extensive mobile poker community, you can submit various high scores for bragging rights, view other players’ profiles, manage your buddy lists and message opponents in-game. In Contest Mode, you also have a chance compete against others to win prizes through special Magmic promotions.
For those new to poker, “No Limit Texas Hold’em” is a game of skill, cunning and deception. It is by far the most popular poker game in casinos and at homes throughout North America and Europe. This is the game played during the “World Series of Poker” and other major tournaments. Texas Hold’em King 3 is the third edition of Magmic’s “Texas Hold’em King” series, one of the top mobile poker franchises with over 5 million product downloads and a multi-player community of over 100,000.

I tend to do my best thinking on the porcelain throne and came up with a great brainstorm idea (in my opinion) for an application. I know Geotagging and friend finding applications have been all the craze recently but I have a simpler and more effective use of GPS or cellphone tower triangulation. Let me know what you think about my proposed application.
The application would allow you to geotag your emails or PIN messages. This would allow fellow BlackBerry users to click on a link in the email and open up a BBmaps or Google maps view of where you are.
This could be even cooler if your friends could send you a PIN or email requesting your location. That way I don’t have to have an application constantly reporting my location. Rather the application would ask me before telling my friends where I am. Even better would be a way to tie this into BlackBerry Messenger where you could allow certain contacts to request your location.
So what do you think? Stupid and useless? Or brilliantly simple and useful?

Ignoring all the big brother security fears for now this does seem like a pretty cool application. Josep just let me know about this application that lets you share your GPS location with friends. You can then meet friends that are near you or let trusted people know where you are.
Personally I always thought RIM would add such functionality to BBmessenger. Imagine being able to click on a contact and select Map on Google Maps.
Would scare the hell out of me…
I have not had a chance to try the application out for myself but you can check out their website at www.livecontacts.com or you can jump right in and download the BlackBerry client at www.livecontacts.com/blackberry. It seems to only be available for the 8800 and 8300 currently.
Thanks to Frank Gruber at SomeWhatFrank for spotting this one

First RIM removed HTML email from BES 4.1.5. Then In March RIM pushed off the release until the 15th of April. On the 14th they pushed it off again until the 17th of April. Guess what its the 17th of April and still no BES 4.1.5.
We still get to stare at the cute little promotion logo that says it is coming soon. Hopefully we will be seeing BES 4.1.5 sooner rather than later…
You can keep an eye out on release dates at this link.

I found this little tip on CrackBerry Australia. I’ve tried it and it works well…Thanks CybaCowboy…
On the Home screen, hold “Alt” and press “N”, “M”, “L”, “L”…
For those wanting a signal meter that is a little more specific, this will show the decibels (”dBm”) of the current signal!
Repeat the above process to switch back to the “traditional” signal meter…

There has been a heap of news all over BlackBerry base sites in the last 24 hours regarding the possibility of a forward facing camera on the upcoming BlackBerry 9000. Why all the big shock?? Just about every ‘3G’ device has a forward facing camera. (It was a big thing in Australia on the first generation of ‘3G’ devices that you could ‘video call’ from your cell phone…It never took off). If the 9K does have a forward facing camera, I hope RIM keep the one out back as well because it’s a real pain in the butt trying to take a ’snap’ shot when you can’t see the screen.

If you are planning to visit WES this year then be sure to drop into the OtterBox booth and say Hi to the ever friendly staff manning the booth. Their booth number is 658.WES 2008 starts on May 13 in Orlando, Florida. For further information check out their site at; http://www.attendwes.com/event/ . Unfortunately I won’t be attending as my boss won’t spring for the airfare. (This year anyway
