These themes are not groundbreaking but I know a few people who are sporting them with pride. This is not a limited time offer so you can take your time but everybody is going to get OS 4.5 real soon…

YouGetItBack Mobile Superhero - New Protection Features

cell-superhero-side YouGetItBack is one of those applications that helps you protect your device and information if it gets into the wrong hands. They had a pretty impressive feature set until now but they have just beefed it up. I also happen to love the product logo :).

New features include:

  • PIN lock / unlock – The user will be able to lock or unlock a phone remotely via a user-defined PIN code entered at Yougetitback.com when the user activates his or her protection for the device.
  • Text lock – From a friend’s phone, a user can text the command “LOCK <PIN CODE>” to lock his or her missing phone remotely when no access to the website is available.
  • Auto lock – The phone will lock automatically after a defined period of inactivity. This feature is enabled at the website, where the user defines the duration of the inactive period.
  • Call Pattern – The upgrade allows users to define and choose customized parameters under which their devices will lock automatically — such as geographic location of the device or call attempts to numbers not in a user’s contact list – depending on individual protection requirements. Parameters are outlined on the website.
  • Country dialing – The user defines a list of allowable country codes for his or her device at the website. If this feature is enabled on the phone, the phone will lock if a thief or finder attempts to dial a country not on the user’s list
  • Roaming – The phone will lock when it enters a roaming state if this option has been enabled via the site.

Another feature of the upgrade is the user’s ability to change the configuration of his or her device’s protection functionality at Yougetitback.com and then synchronize the changes to the device.

Commercial Reflex Color Zen Theme For 8100, 8300, 8800, & 9000

A friend of mine told me about this theme for his Bold and I was impressed. I did not have a chance to take a screenshot of it on the Bold but trust me it looks good. This is the same reflex theme that we have seen before but it finally got a touch of color to spice things up. The theme is available now for $5.99 for the 8100, 8300, 8800, & 9000 Bold at this link.

MyPoynt Now Supports The BlackBerry Bold

Mypoynt7Tom let me know that MyPoynt has updated their application to support the Bold. All you lucky… can pick up the updated version at m.mypoynt.com. Make sure you have emulation set to “BlackBerry” in your browser options or else the site will not recognize your Bold.

Sorry could not get a screenshot of the Bold running MyPoynt but the user interface has also supposedly gotten a workover.

Storm Front Moving In Over USA

Untitled-2 Crackberry.com has posted what they believe to be the final specs for the US version of the Storm. This Berry will first be released to the CDMA World on Verizon Wireless. Which makes sense in light of the high speed connection problems plaguing the Bold. I think it is safe to say that Verizon’s Network is fairly stable these days. While this is not the first time that we have heard most of this information, it never hurts to hear it so matter-of-factly.  So without further Ado:

For the record, it should be known that I do plan on picking one of these up the day that it comes out, so please forgive me for acting like a child on Christmas.

  • EVDO Rev A: (1900/800 MHz)
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE: (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • UTMS/HSDPA/HSUPA: 2100MHZ
  • WiFi: None
  • Size: 112.52 x 62.2 x 13.95 mm
  • Screen 3.25 ” HVGA+ 480×360 Multi-touch, Gesture Touch
  • Battery: 1400mAh (removable! take that iPhone!)
  • Memory: 1GB flash for media/ 192 meg ram
  • Camera: 3.2 MP camera, vanity mirror, no flash
  • Audio: 3.5mm jack, bluetooth stereo, Rhapsody OTA purchase and tethered subscription capable
  • Browser: Every feature the IPhone safari webkit has, minus support for tabs. No flash support.
  • Wait a minute… No Flash Support? You have got to be kidding me! It feels like I have been waiting years for this and RIM decides not to put flash capabilities? What the heck? But wait rumors are now floating around that the GSM version will come with Flash support. This had better not be the work of Verizon Wireless, that’s all I have to say.

Storm Comes To GSM- Sooner Than We Thought?

talkupastorm I have long since believed that readers are the backbone to the Blogosphere, and this only further fixes that thought in my mind. The guys over at BlackBerryNews.com received 2 images from the 9500 Job Aid, these offer definitive proof that not only will the US be seeing a GSM Storm, but also Europe as well.

It appears that Bell will be the lucky GSM carrier to get their hands on the storm in Canada. Apparently with a 6 month exclusivity as well! Telus will also recieve the CDMA version of the Storm making Canada a GREAT place to pick up the latest and greatest devices.  Not to fear Europeans, Vodaphone will take on the Storm in Europe.  You can check out the full article here.
