Michael Small, with BlackBerryThemes.co.uk, let me know today that he has some cool new themes up on his website. As many of you know and disliked, BlackBerryThemes did not have their themes available for OTA download, they were desktop install only.
Well BlackBerryThemes has began posting OTA links to its themes in their own thread at BlackLightThemes.com. Finally we can get these amazing themes without having to fire up the old Desktop Manager!

This round we have; a Carbon Fiber theme, which is really clean looking, a neat Chess theme, a really cool Chinese Theme and an interesting evil creature theme!
You can view the themes and download them, if you still prefer the desktop download, at BlackBerryThemes.co.uk. If you want to download the themes OTA, click here to go to their thread over at BlackLightThemes.com
Personally I think that this will be great for both sites!

Patty sent in this tidbit from PDA Street announcing the released of a mobile portal to your QuickBooks Online account. Nothing groundbreaking here but if you use Intuits online version of QuickBooks this is a nice addition. Sadly the information is read only but I guess it is better than nothing.
QuickBooks Online for the BlackBerry is perfect for business owners on the go. QuickBooks Online for the BlackBerry lets you view read-only versions of:
- Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports
- Bank account and credit card balances
- Vendor, customer, and employee lists
- Accounts receivable and payable
- QuickBooks Online contact information, which works with your BlackBerry to make calls, create emails, and even look up addresses using Google Maps
You can check it out by going to this link on your BlackBerry: https://accounting.quickbooks.com/m or you can read more information at this link.

Its almost like we can’t get enough of the upcoming KickStart Pearl 8220. The guys at Cell Phone Signal managed to catch some shots of the T-Mobile 8220 and the new MyFaves look on T-Mobile. Nothing groundbreaking once again but I am a sucker for screencandy.
More shots at CellPhoneSignal.com
Thanks to Polly for sending this one in via Engadget Mobile

Tired of teaching your friends the simplest BlackBerry tricks? Pissed off at RIM for not providing a hardcopy manual? Are Stinsondog’s BlackBerry tips still going over their heads? BlackBerry Made Simple might just have a solution for you.
BlackBerry Made Simple just let me know that their entire library of videos (65 in total) is now available for watching on your BlackBerry. Before you had to watch the videos from your desktop but now you can actually watch them on the go from your 8100, 8300, & 8800. They even have training videos for the Bold already. I think some people will still prefer the convenience of their desktops but it is always good to have options. They might just have to watch the video on how to watch video on your BlackBerry first…
Just as an FYI the videos take up about 80-120Mb but the developers recommend a 1gb MicroSD card. They also have a batch uploader which will simplify the transfer of all the videos to your BlackBerry.
The plans for access are:
- On device videos:
- Starter Pack 25 videos - $19.99
- Full Library 65 videos - $49.99
- Computer viewing of videos
- $9.99/user for a week
- $49.99/user per year
- Combo plan - Both computer and Device videos
You can find out more details at www.blackberrymadesimple.com
I have recently been recommending the BlackBerry Made Simple weekly or even yearly computer subscription for my richer technically challenged BlackBerry toting friends. Stinsondog’s tips is still my recommendation for my penny pinching friends.

BlackLightThemes keeps rolling themes! Now some of the forum moderators and individual members have started submitting their own themes. I have grouped all of these together to avoid multiple posts to the same source.

Last week we posted a Law Enforcement theme and today we have an EMT theme for you. My favorite part about this theme, is instead of an hourglass, you get an ekg! Also from the owner comes a couple Chicago Cubs themes. These themes are available for 83XX and 88XX OS 4.2 & 4.5.
Viewer submitted themes include a cool dark blue Celtic theme called Star Custom, perfect for men and women alike! Also a feminine Butterfly theme called Fly Away.I believe these two themes are only available for OS 4.5 +. Head over to BlackLightThemes.com and do a quick search to find the exact theme for your device!
As always these themes are 100% FREE, but if you like them and have a couple bucks to spare, the developer accepts donations via PayPal.

Do you get tired of paying for media? After we mentioned Aukido on Friday one of our readers, Windchime, left a comment about another free service that I found interesting. The website is www.Zedge.net and has a great selection of free wallpapers & ringtones. Like Aukido it also lets you upload a MP3 and crop the audio to the section you want and download it to your phone. The site also has a mobile version with the latest ring tones, great wallpapers and videos for your mobile phone. When you visit the mobile site it ask you to select what type of phone you have and even lets you select the model of phone. Browsing the site is very simple but one thing that I did notice is that sometimes it loses your settings and asks you to select you phone model again.

From the mobile site you have the option to search for ringtones, videos, games, wallpapers, themes. There are no themes available for BlackBerrys but for that you have us to point out the best themes. The video section is already converted to 3gp for playing on your phone but I will advise you that you need a fast connection or it will take a while for them to download. The main section I was interested in was the ringtones. They do have a large selection of ringtones created by your everyday user. I also found some great wallpapers on the site. You can see my two favorites below:

The best part is that the site lets you download quite a few files without having to sign up. After a few downloads it will ask you to create an account. All the content on the site can be downloaded and saved to your phone for free but you must have a data package with your provider. In case you don’t, simply visit the site from your pc and save the files and upload via USB. Enjoy!

While we have mentioned two great drink mixing mobile websites before we have never covered any of the on device applications. When a friend of mine asked me if there was one I did a bit of research. I actually heard about Mobile Bartender when I was reading a review by Ryan Blundell on CrackBerry. Looks like a great application according to the review with only a few downsides. You can even enter in the ingredients you have and it will tell you what you can make.
Sadly there is no trial but if you are interested you can pick up the application in the store for $7.95 at the links below:
Mobile Bartender for 8100 | 8300/8800 | 8700
Cheers! If you are cheap like me you can just stick with the free Drinkboy & Mixology websites… Let me know if you find any other great resources.

Oakie sent in this great article by Marshall Brain of HowStuffWorks the does a great job of explaining Lithium-Ion batteries. In case you did not know, this is the type of battery that powers your Berry. I found the description quite interesting and thought I would share. Here are some FAQ points I thought were worthy of mention:
They have no memory effect, which means that you do not have to completely discharge them before recharging.
- In fact if you completely discharge the battery you are actually ruining it!
- They start degrading as soon as they leave the factory. They will only last two or three years from the date of manufacture whether you use them or not. This is sped up even further if they are stored at high temperatures.
- If you are buying a new battery pack, you want to make sure it really is new. If it has been sitting on a shelf in the store for a year, it won’t last very long. Manufacturing dates are important.
- A lithium-ion battery pack loses only about 5 percent of its charge per month, compared to a 20 percent loss per month for NiMH batteries.
- There is a little computer in the battery which will shut down the battery if it is completely discharged or gets too hot. This computer eats the 5% every month.
- There is a small chance that, if a lithium-ion battery pack fails, it will burst into flame.

On a side note Alexandre from Blackberry-fr.com (French) let me know about a bad experience he had with his brand new Bolds battery. For some reason his Bold became hot (screen and back) so he took out the battery and put it back 5 min later. After an hour it was completely dead and will no longer take a charge. I really hope this does not happen to my future Bold.
