This is another website I ran into recently that I bookmarked on my BlackBerry. It’s not a BlackBerry or even a mobile specific website, but it fills a gap that I had. Have you ever tried to reach a website and it looked like it was down but you could not confirm it? Turns out that DownForEveryoneOrJustMe is meant to answer that question.

You just punch in a URL and it will tell you if the website is down for just you or for everybody. Nothing more and nothing less…
Check it out at www.DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com and let me know what you think.

We all knew it wouldn’t be long before theme designers started creating themes for the Blackberry BOLD so I guess we’ll be seeing more and more of them as time goes on. John over at GadgetBean.Com has gotten in on the fun by taking his popular Real iBerry Blocks Theme and creating a version for the Blackberry BOLD. This custom L, bottom dock menu and ‘today’ screen theme has sharp and vivid graphics and is downright cool. If I didn’t want to own a BOLD before, I really do now :0)

Real iBerry Bocks Custom Theme is available for $7.00 right here at our Berryreview Store. Enjoy!

S4BB sent out an email over the weekend that they have updated their public beta of TaskReports for BlackBerry. TaskReports essentially helps you create reports on how efficiently you handle the tasks on your BlackBerry. Personally I don’t have a need for such an application but I can see some GTD task aficionados interested in such an application.
New features in TaskReports 1.4.0 Beta 5
- GTD reports (next actions, contexts, projects, and project progress).
- Help screen for general usage.
- HTML reports have been polished.
- Improved start up time and program feedback.
- Improved performance on report generation (saves battery power).
- Bug fixes: no more out of memory errors when you have thousands of tasks in your database.
S4BB has also updated their Wallpaper Megaplex 2.6 lifetime wallpaper service to support additional devices and upcoming device screen sizes. The new version supports the Bold and the upcoming 8220 & Storm.
Its available on sale now for $9.99 direct from MobileSoftwareMarket

I was reading a great writeup on WapReview about 3 different mobile websites that allow you to access and update your Twitter profile without an application. This is probably the best solution for those of us that only use Twitter occasionally and would rather avoid the current batch of buggy Twitter BlackBerry applications. Maybe RIM will release a client?
The list Dennis complied:
Check them out and let us know which you think is the best. Have another alternative? Let us know in the comments.

With all the progress Microsoft & RIM have made with integrating Live and other services on the BlackBerry I was surprised when I came across this little tidbit. It turns out that you cannot access hosted Microsoft Office Outlook Live email on your BlackBerry.
It turns out that Microsoft is using another proprietary HTTP (Surprised?) to access the Microsoft Outlook Live software. The funny part is that if you install the Microsoft Outlook Live connector on your PC it will also cause any attempt to synchronize with Outlook to fail since it changes the MAPI profile which BlackBerry desktop manager uses to synchronize.
RIM’s solution? Use a different email account.
Check out the detail at this link

An anonymous tipper sent this in, but I am a little slow on the draw as now it seems to be common knowledge that AT&T is holding launch parties for employees, authorized dealers, resellers, etc. to go and see the Blackberry Bold in action. Go to this site for details and check out a neat little video about ‘What Makes You Bold?’. I guess this is proof that it won’t be long before you can actually go into an AT&T store and get one for yourself…
