   RIM is showing us a lot of good stuff but I'v had it up to my eyeballs with prying for their products to work.

   My wife and I are on a trip. I go to Chicago to meet her. I stay at the Hilton Airport Hotel. PB will not connect to the net work. After I do a mannual connection it connects and we talk using BBM video chat for like 5 min. PB fall off the network and I can never get it back on.

   Now we are in Sonoma CA. Trying to connect to a WPA2 network. Connected yesterday fine. Today will not conenct even after a reboot. Menahie Wife's PB is connected. (NO NETWORK ISSUES).

   Meanwhile my 9930 is constantly shifting 1X to 3G and back to 1X, and all the while burning the battery

   Wife has an iPhone humming along without any issues.

   Jesus C! RIM why to I have to put up with this shit just to support you.

   I am so close to calling it quits on BB products I never thought this day would come for me.

   I mean aren't these supposed to be dependeble business products? I'm flabbergasted over my experience.

   My PB is about to be put to the test. A 5 day 4 city trip on the east coast. It will be my first outing with the PB AND my wifes Ithingy. We'll see how they do on the road. I hope not to have your issues Kiddo, for sure. I wonder why it connects at some and not at others? Although I have had my laptop not connect at times when it should have.

   Are you actually looking for reasons or just venting?

   I would think you would know 100% what the situation is on the ground and could make your own educated opinion.

   Your issue you reference in this post seems to have a very isolated issue and not even in the realm of regular Blackberry complaints.

   I mean if you are really questioning the radio in Blackberries then you are gone and there is no hope in convincing you to stay. Just go get a Android or iPhone. Do you really think Android/iPhone's have better radios on average than Blackberry? I mean come on Kiddo...

   Your post bothers me because you, like me, are clearly a devoted BB fan. We have come this far. I see no logic to running out and buying an iPhone 4S or Android right now.

   Lol even if you are giving up on Blackberry. Why buy a 4S when the 5/6 is coming out with LTE? If you were going to buy an Android, why not wait until the batch that hits at the end of the year.

   I am giving RIM 1 more chance before trying something else. Thats BB10

   All signs point to BB10 being everything we want. The evidence is in OS 2.0

   Anyways do what you want but at least stay sane....

   Say what you will about the Playbook launch and experience to date, but, what you have to acknowledge is that the Playbook experience has allowed RIM to work out many kinks for BB10

   It will end up being an 18 month beta for BB10 which is crazy good for getting an OS up and running.

   From a superphone perspective that gives me hope.

   Look at the apps coming. Slow and steady but they are coming.

   I am fairly confident we will have a fairly robust app catalogue once BB10 hits

   I find myself asking the same question countless amount of time too Kiddo but I have this bond with my blackberry i just cant seem to let go and there is always something new to experience with blackberry.If you haven't had one you cant officially say you have a blackberry :) cause i'm sure we all have some problem here and there.

   I'm at that point like Brian where i waiting on blackberry 10 to come out to make my final decision whether to stay or go but i'm really liking Playbook OS 2.0 features which make me wonder what the experience on the blackberry 10 would be like.

   So just give them another shot a lot of us are at that point too where we cant bear it any longer but we are still holding on and hoping for better (blackberry 10).

   Trust me kiddo keep your Blackberry. After using the droid razr and only having a battery for 2 hours isn't worth the extra features. I am holding my 9850 <3 BlackBerry.

   Why can't my pb connect when my wife's is connected????????? I've rebooted twice.

   my pb associates with the network and then fails to connect, tells me to check the password. IT IS THE RIGHT PASSWORD the same one I put into wife's pb.

   God it's sooooo frustrating.

   I know other phones/tablets have issue but holy hell, what is going on???

    @ Kiddo, painful as it may sound, have you done a security wipe? If you're on the road that may be hard, but I've had glitches (not exactly the same as your's) and usually it's resolved with a security wipe. I think sometimes when an app upgrades it doesn't actually integrate properly or you may have picked up a virus during an internet session and while the OS may have isolated it it may still be interrupting some of the functions.

    Realistically if your wife's PB is having no issues, it would be that your PB has picked up a virus or something.

    As to the switch between 1X to 3G for your BB phone, its just your phone trying to hop onto the best available network speed if and when it can detect it. If you want to avoid it, you can just set it to 3G and not have it go on 1X. Perhaps your wife's iPhone is set to just that.

    @PB I can't set it to 3G because I'm on Verizon. Settign the 3G option only works if the chip is activated which it only is when yo travel abroad. In the US you have to have it on 1X EVDO or something.

    I don;t think it's a virus since the only website I was on with the PB here (and recall it worked for a bit) was berry review.

    Update, my wife's playbook just fell off the network and now like mine, fails to authenticate.

    My 9930 won't even find the net work. Our laptops and her iPhone are happily wizzing along on the network.....

    Sorry for the bitching but I'm in the midst of a total RIM/Blackebrry failure while all other devices from Apple to Sony to IBM are working fine.

    Also still having the 1X 3G issue, left my phone (didn't even pick it up) for two hours and battery went from 100% to almost dead.

    @ Steve, I use the term "virus" loosely, but I think it really is a coding issue and usually happens if a few apps upgrade. At least that's what I noticed with mine.

    I have a problem sometimes with PB telling me that it can't locate a network, especially if I'm viewing something from VEVO. It doesn't happen with any other app.

    I had a similar problem to Kiddo a couple of months ago. It wouldn't log into my home network automatically, it kept asking me to authenticate my password (nothing was changed), I couldn't back up, it was constantly hanging and when I was out at other locations that I have used my PB on it was doing the same thing. Finally I did a security wipe and it resolved itself. This was after I cleared the cache, history, everything.

    I think sometimes there is an internal conflict in coding especially if a few apps got updated etc and the OS is trying to figure which coding should be used.

    @ Kiddo as for the network issue, it might be worth a call to Verizon about it. Perhaps they can resolve it?

    Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time. It totally sucks when you're travelling and things start falling apart when they shouldn't.
