Hi,
I just got a blackberry torch 9800 a week ago. I noticed that when i slide the phone open sometimes, the keypad refused to work, only the touch remains functional, and the trackpad moves up and down, but no other buttons work like the return button or the menu button. I am forced to remove the battery and switch the phone on again. Anyone experienced this or knows how I can stop this from happening?
Thanks
first step, remove battery
if that doesnt' do anything
reinstall OS
How to reinstall OS?
Thanks Brian.
Removing the battery temporarily solves the problem, but it still keeps happening afterwards.
I have a problem with my BB Desktop software as well, I installed it then it gives me the error 'Send report the software has encountered an error' so until i sort that out, reinstalling the OS is not a viable option for me.
Actually, you could go to C:/programfiles/common files/research in motion/apploader. Then reinstall the OS.
That bypasses DM.
Corey,
what is DM?
I have found the app loader, but I really do not want to reinstall my OS again, there is no other solution I could try?
Thanks
DM = Desktop Manager. To fix something like that, the only way to make it better (or try to) is to wipe or reinstall the OS.
Thanks for all the help.
It should only be a matter of setting the correct keyboard layout in the Options > Typing > Keyboard settings.
