Rogers Hot Deal (if you're Canadian)

Hey for all you canuck heads on the forum, Rogers once again have for limited time (until Sept. 30th) $30.00 for 6GB data package. I've had this one for three years now. Love it, love it. I open everything, stream music, hop on the web, use BB Traffic...

You can also tether on this and for an extra $10.00 you can add any other device to this plan for a total of 4 devices! Or just tether your PB for free (you're allowed one free device).

I use to hook up my laptop to my BB phone, but now I just tether my PB instead of using bridge if I want some serious speed for the internet or if I want to use Bing Maps.

I don't work for Rogers, but it's a great deal. Just in time for the new BB phones, I'm sure. :)

I wish someone in the US would do something like this. The carriers are too busy trying to figure out how to get the most money out of us, to try a deal like that.

Yeah I see some US plans and it's crazy how much the carriers want to charge... omg!

My son has 500 mb on his BB which he doesn't even come close to using up cuz he also has unlimited usage of BBM, unlimited access to all social media sites, unlimited personal email on BIS... it's a really cool BB package for $40.00. Of course he has to add voice to that. But his voice cost is only $17.50 for 200 anytime minutes, unlimited after 6 p.m.

That's a great plan for teens. Other than the 3 yr contracts it might be time for these American carriers to start paying attention to whats going on up north.

I am tempted by this deal as 6 gigs is alot, but, I use the crap out of my bb and I never get more than 200-300 mb

Even with tethering to my Playbook.... mostly because the speeda via bluetooth bridge isnt' that fast

Now if the 9900 does in fact have wifi tethering.... I might do more...

Good thing this deal is on for a little bit longer

I will be able to test the 9900 and see if it has wifi hotspot before Sept 30

True, they are saying that there is no wifi hotspot though, which in my mind would be terrible. I have Sprint and I pay $150 for 2 lines and that includes 1200 shared minutes, unlimited mobile to ANY mobile, and unlimited data and messaging. It also includes the insurance for the phones. Its not a bad deal and the service is pretty good.

@ Babisboi, that's an excellent plan! I pay just about that much for my BB plan. Although I do get:
unlimited texting, unlimited incoming calls, unlimited network calling (to any Fido/Rogers cell or land line) unlimited evening and weekends after 6 pm, voice mail, voicemail to text, one free ringtone download per month (not that I use this feature) 400 anytime minutes, 200 long distance minutes plus 6 GB of data.

@BBA, I tether my BB to my PB a lot if I'm on the road cuz I find the bridge browser speed way too slow (falling asleep slow, LOL even with improvement) and I haven't even used anywhere near a gb of data. And with my getting 50-75 emails a day and responding to 90% of them (whenever I'm on the road - roughly 3 days of the week) as well as initiating another 5-10 emails... plus all the PDF and excel attachments that I open, I'm still under a gb. So yeah, the 6GB will future proof you. Also to get it normally would cost you $60.00 for only 5 GB!

Can't wait to hear from you if the 9900 has a wi-fi hot spot or not! :)

Remember BBs are incredibly efficient at compressing data.

They definitely are and RIM should jump all over that in their advertising. More for less, that's what you get with a Blackberry.
