Research In Motion aims to keep its dominance of the corporate smartphone market by enabling the BlackBerry to segregate a user’s personal data from work-related emails and other applications sponsored by employers.

A senior RIM executive says the company would soon introduce software that would effectively give users two phones in one. It’s part of RIM’s strategy to arrest a steady erosion of its leadership in the corporate segment as Apple’s iPhone and other consumer-friendly devices make inroads.

This is Blackberry Balance right? I think BR posted about it a couple weeks ago.

Yeah it sounds interesting, and something I’d actually look into as I’d wanted to add my work accounts to my phone but didn’t want to mix them up with my personal stuff.

The interesting tidbit actually from that Yahoo article is the one about battery life:

    Quote:
“It’s going to be equal or greater than the iPad with smaller battery size,” he said.

    Hope thats true!

Man this is crazy. You are dancing with the entire McPoyle Family. These people are freak shows, man...freaks. But you're keeping your cool. You're keeping your cool. You know why? Because you are the Green Man. Green Man is saving your life right now, bro. Just go with the flow.

I believe it is the new Balance suite. It’s starting to get some traction in the Press, however, and RIM is up today nearly 2% (1.8%) so I wondered if there was a correlation.

I could see both Balance and Protect taking off with RIM users…now if only there was widespread availability! Still waiting on the release of Protect…

I like that RIM is not only thinking about the device but is also thinking about the user and the user experience and they’re showing that with Balance, Protect, the Built for Blackberry Program…I like the direction they’re headed in.
