I've been mulling this over for a couple of days. My cheapo Chinese knock-off tablet just died and I was considering jumping on the Playbook. I have a 9800 so I would be able to Bridge, etc. What do people say? Is it worth it? What will become of current Playbooks when the new OS comes out? Will the existing Playbook's support it? Or will we get "Appled" into buying a newer version?
November 27, 2012 at 5:35 PM #197383At those prices, yes very much worth it. The hardwear is excellent, and the software will only get better as BB10 arrives. Speculation is that BB10 is coming to the playbook in 2013 but as is, at those prices, you won't find a better tablet on the market, blows the kindle out of the water, iPad mini is $150 more or something…I'd say go for it.
November 27, 2012 at 9:02 PM #197384Office Depot actually has the 64 GB at $149 and the 32 at $129 but alas, both are out of stock.
November 29, 2012 at 5:27 PM #197385I caved at the last minute – just before 1 AM – and bought it. Hope I don't regret it.

November 29, 2012 at 6:49 PM #197387Got the 32. Don't see myself needing more than that but I could be wrong. The Playbook did transgress one of my bigger pet peeves – lack of expandability via memory card. Makes it very "Apple-like." Even some of the newer Android devices that don't have a microSD slot, like the Nexus 7, do allow for plugging in of USB devices. So I hope that missing feature doesn't disappoint me too much.
