Hello, all.
I was setting up my PB64 to transfer over all my iTunes files (many gb). Clearly the best way to do this was over WiFi.
In Windows Explorer I double-clicked on the Playbook device and opened up \\playbook\media. I then copied my iTunes directory over into the \\playbook\media\music directory.
When I first started the transfer I had the device connected via USB. I assumed that this would all work over the pre-established WiFi connection - but I noticed that the transfer speed was down around 500-800kb/s
I disconnected the USB cable as an experiement and the transfer failed. It confirmed that the 'network' connection was really an internal network number (169.x.x.x) which was assigned to the USB cable.
I then double clicked on the Playbook in Windows Explorer and started the transfer again (with no cable attached).
Wow. What a pig. The transfer dropped down to less than 100kb/s!
Then I realised that the Playbook dropped down to a BlueTooth connection! :) (I had been experimenting connecting and pairing to everything including my laptop).
I turned off BlueTooth and then re-started the transfer. NOW it finally worked on WiFi (a few MB/s)
So: If you're experiencing awful file transfer speeds when you THINK you're using WiFi.. check the cable, and any other connections you may have as pre-existing conditions. WiFi doesn't have priority over cables or bluetooth it seems.
