The prices for the last month or so at Shop BlackBerry have been $199, $249, and $299 for 16/32/64GB PlayBooks.
As of lunch today, Walmart online was still at $198, $248, and $298.
We can't wait for the 2.0 release at my house(4 PlayBooks). Hope it doesn't disappoint for RIM's sake.

I'm with ya Joe...2.0 better not disappoint...2 PBs at home, and at work, I convinced about 10-15 folks to grab one at $299 (64GB)...
RIM don't fail me now!
LOL, I'm excited though, I expect to LOVE IT!

My guess is that those will be the new prices. I don't know if RIM recorded one sale of the 64gb version at the $699 price, no way they will get the prices back up to original levels and sell, even with OS2.0

They are back down to $199, $249, and $299 again until 2/20. I'm not sure if that might suggest a 2/21 OS2 release. I do think they will be unable to ever go back to the original full price. I suspect the new regular prices will be $299, $399, and $499. I think those are practically break even prices. That's probably a decent strategy so they can get Playbooks in as many hands as possible - ideally people w/o BB phones. The new bridge capabilities might just persuade people to try a BB phone.

I bought the 64GB on day one so probably paid $699. But I don't mind. RIM needs to get more playbooks out.
The delay in 2.0 is really worriesome. Latest speculation is iPad 3 out March 7th. Does RIM want to release on the same day and be invisible? You just know there is going to be some gimmic in the iPad 3 that the media will fawn over.
Every day of delay is one less day that a positive article could be written about OS2 before the iPad3 comes. I think the perception is going to be that Playbook is just out of date when iPad 3 comes.
Unfortunaately even under TH is appears RIM is fiddling while Rome burns.
