So I have US Cellular. I have enough rewards points to get the 9850 for free and won't cost me as I've fulfilled my 2 year and never have to sign another contract. So can always leave freely at any point.
Want to hear from 9850 owners. Good? Bad? Eh?
Not worried about the QNX/BBX hoopla (again, don't have a contract), just curious if I should upgrade from the Bold 9650.
oooo I know you aren't worried about the BBX hoopla, but, I wouldn't invest in a full touch BB7 phone right now.
I know its pie in the sky...but... we could be 3-4 months away from a BBX full touch. For me, thats way to close of a margin.

If you can get it free and you aren't gonna be stuck with a new contract, why not get it? It will be a traditional full touch experience unlike what RIM has had to date. Just do it.

haha...well now I'm waiting. I had some interviews and may be changing jobs. My carrier isn't in that area as a home location. So may switch. So I could get the phone and sell it at full price. :)

Well..got the phone for free. Absolutely love it. It's fast, easy to use, and way better than the storms. Not sure why people complain about the Torches.

Actually no. They look worse on the other phone that has them, is it the 97xx? They are low profile along with the trackpad. Thought it would be the one thing I hate, but it's not.
The thing I hate is that I had to turn Delete Confirmation. The 'X' is right by the fat between my thumb and first finger. So after deleting quite a few emails by accident, I changed it. lol

Haha...this is exactly how I feel. Except I'm seriously considering the 9790. The 9850 is a slick looking device too.
Only reason I'm considering an OS7 device is because we haven't seen any QWERTY BBX leaks yet. Touchscreen only. So, if its 2013 before we see a BBX keyboard...I got a full year of the 9790. And quite frankly, I am now resisting the urge to through my 9700 out the window on a DAILY basis. The gorgeous external is the only thing that saves it because...the internals suck.
