Look at what N4BB found:

Research In Motion recently released the PlayBook native SDK 2.0 beta today. Along with it was a surprise PlayBook OS 2.0 update. RIM pushed out PlayBook OS v2.0.0.4869 once the developer signed up for the native SDK beta.

Within the latest PlayBook OS 2.0 developer beta is the option to set your LED notifications. You can also set the LED notification in conjunction with a ‘glow’ notification. While this feature doesn’t work at the moment, it is good to see its progress. It will be interesting to see if RIM opens up this feature to developers for custom LED notification apps to exist on the PlayBook.

The city of Rochester upgraded their emergency notification system in order to better communicate with fire, police, EMT, and rescue personnel when calls were put in to 911. The old way of communicating was a paging system that required 167 separate phone calls to be made by hand. This required a good amount of manpower that could be employed to better use elsewhere while still having a relatively slow response rate.
