They did a reveiw of it on the local news program a few days ago. They like the price and for what it does, but said it's slow and slightly clunky, that people need to keep in mind it's just a reader/media device and not a tablet like iPad or Blackberry, so that was a nice acknowlegement from the media.

Yeah. A lot of people love their eReaders. lol. One of my co-workers loves my Playbook, but she got the Nook as she reads books and mags and she can also browse the net if needed. It's not a bad device. Not everyone needs the bells and whistles....but you'd have to pry my Playbook away from my dead fingers! lol. Use it way more than my iPad2.
Was surprised though, cause as much tech as I watch, I hadn't heard they were putting one out.

The Kobo Vox was announced around the same time as the new Nook and after the Kindle Fire so it got kind of lost in the Shuffle, much like Rim, LOL. :) It's a good looking device, you can choose different colour accents, it uses Zinio for its magazines so you have a lot of options for magazines, and it's got an optional SD card slot for SD cards up to 32 GB so it's got more storage options then Kindle which only allows cloud storage (Kobo has that as well).
The other big thing for the Kobo reader it's that it's international so you can buy one in Canada, use in then U.S., Europe, Asia. You're not restricted to just the US like Nook and Kindle Fire.
I'm like you, you'd have to pry the PB out of my cold dead fingers before I give it up, but if I was to pick an ereader I'd probably get the Kobo Vox (besides the fact that it's the only colour reader I can get in Canada, LOL).
