Supporters will say others do it too, or blame the supply chain, but when you are sitting on a mountain of billions in cash, there is, quite simply, no excuse. #BeBold!

I try telling one of my apple loving friend who is for most part very sensitive to things like this and her come back was "are you really sure, I'm sure other phone manufacturers do that!" Wow, she really, really sucked back that iPropoganda.
I'm glad it made the front page news of NYT. I'm going to have to get that and send email it to her. It's amazing how people can be so blind to this when it's an iconic brand that they're fans of.
I teach crisis management (although I'm an economist - a real one not the kind you see on TV). I challenged my students to stop buying apple products. The won't of course but I want them to feel the pressure of this type of complaint. When we study firms in class it's so easy for students to say that firms should just "do the right thing." Well the right thing in this case is for them to stop buying Apple products. I mean, quite simply, there is no denying these abuses are taking place, and they are supporting it by buying Apple products.
It will be very interesting to see how Apple approaches the problem long term. The new CEO might be able to address it. It was not within Jobs to adress it because he always thought he was right.
I'm glad I own a BB and I'm glad my computers are windows. Gates is really doing great stuff. I'm glad to support MSFT although many especially older teach geeks hate MSFT. Apple in to my mind is just a horrible company.
