My family had an IPad for a few months before Christmas, and we all fell in love with the portability and battery life of tablets. A week before Chistmas, I bought two of the $199 16GB PlayBooks from Radio Shack. My high school twins loved them. I ordered two more for $199 before the Shop BlackBerry sale ended 1/1/12. Now that sale is back. We have high hopes for the OS 2.0 upgrade we hope is coming. Nevertheless, this is a GREAT little machine for the price. Over the years I have spent thousands of dollars on desktop and laptop computers for my family of six (four sons), and I feel like right now this is one of the best values I have ever gotten.

A family w/four playbooks! Love it. Do you all video chat each other?
3 of my siblings wanted tablets for Christmas...I already had the playbook, I've let them all use it here and there...what did I end up with (by their choice)? 3 Kindles. So lame considering they could have got way more technology for the same $199.

Sometimes I tell the boys (3 at home) "goodnight" using the video chat. One of the boys records poetry on it he has to memorize. One connects the micro HDMI to a 32" flatscreen to play games. One makes his own videos. I surf the web. Lots of uses yet to explore.
