chaos-erupts-newspaper Talk about a crazy day. Users everywhere are staring at empty screens and trying to see if the world has come crashing down. Gmail and Google Apps Mail are all down from the web interface after hours of sporadic issues all day.

Check out the Google Apps dashboard for up to the minute reports from Google about the status of their efforts to fix this issue. Mind you even the dashboard is running really slow since it is getting hit by frantic users wondering what the hell is happening!

Looks like there will be one long coffee break going on now… This just makes you realize how much you rely on Google.

NOTE: So far reports are saying that IMAP and POP3 are still working so that’s you best bet for now!

Looks like its working fine now. I also noticed that my messages are FINALLY being marked as read when I read them on my 8900. This wasn’t happening before for me.

I had trouble getting in, and I thought it was just my company’s crappy internet access and absurd web filtering policies. Reliance on Google for e-mail is not as terrible as relying on your company’s IT department which sees much more frequent problems with e-mail, specially those use microsft exchange servers…
