Tell your carrier that you want the service blocked on that specific number. I have a family plan and was tired of my siblings getting picture messages, texts, and "accidently" accessing the internet (since I'm the only one with a blackberry/data plan), so I went into AT&T and deactivate data and sms on the other numbers. Even if someone texts them, it won't go through.
depends on the phone cuz ATT requires a data plan if it is a smart phone.

True for data but SMS, pretty sure that can be blocked on any phone.
Yes, very easily,. However, the thing to remember there is (depending on your carrier) SMS is used to deliver your voice mail notifications to your handset. So blocking it, could disable VM notifications.
So that's why when I get a VM notification it uses my SMS tone? I never knew that. Learn something new every day
Hahaha, yes we do. :)

Lets say SMS is a service which means going for a App is not the most effective way to tackle this problem. I think within BlackBerry, under options there is a firewall option to Block SMS and other message types which is useful if get spam and a option to allow only people in your address book.
The Best way is to contact your Carrier and Tell them to add a SMS/MMS Block on your line which will make any sms sent to your number go into a black hole.
well you wont need mms block too though
dang.. this seem like a lot of work.. lol
workarounds usually are. :)
I use MDA (Mobile Data Alerter) for my data usage, its a great lightweight tool.

Any particular reason you choose this one? Something that makes it stand out?
