Bold-291Earlier this week Michael let me know that T-Mobile UK has been stealthily pushing out OS 4.6.0.291 for the Bold through desktop manager and through web upgrades. Now he let me know that the desktop installation files are now available to all!

    Download @ T-Mobile
    Download @ Megaupload

NOTE: Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.

    Thanks Michael!

Is this not actually a downgrade from .282? Meaning, I think this is a carrier specific blended release like AT&T put out a while back.

The platform on this release is 4.0.0.183

The platform on .282 is 4.0.0.235

    Am I off base here?

The Curve 8900 hasn’t had a 4.6 update in a looong time….Are you holding out on us Ronen?? Just kidding….sort of. There’s gotta be one somewhere around here, check you’re couch cushions.

I think we are more likely to see 5.0.x leaked releases for the 8900 than 4.6.1.x. I’m sure RIM has to focus more on getting the function holes in OS 5 fixed rather than worry about 4.6 anymore. I’d like an newer 5.0.x leak where thinks actually work <img src="smileys/smile.gif" width="" height="" alt=":)" title=":)" class="bbcode_smiley" />‘ class=’http://www.berryreview.co/wp-smiley’ /> </p>

@nikolaus & Sean yes it has been forever since we last saw a 4.6.1 release last one was from Tmo Italy I believe .250 and since then nada, even tmo us released a really old version which took them months to release so I am going with Nikolaus here that we are more likely to see a 5.0 release for the 8900 than a 4.6 specially since it did a big jump from .100 to .130 on the latest leak.

I am really hoping we see something that actually works with all apps.

I bet you won’t like 4.6.0.291. Try the BlackBerry menu-switching – it didn’t work for me. You know, where you hold the menu button down?

And…when you press the menu button twice, it doesn’t select the highlighted item anymore, I got used to the selection using the menu button now…
