Wow. I'm REALLY disappointed that BlackBerry10 does NOT have the ability to Synchronise Desktop Outlook Contacts, Memos, Notes, Tasks, Calendar or Contacts.

This is a HUGE issue for me. Almost a deal breaker.

Has anyone heard any plans to support this? Moving all my records into GMAIL is not an option (a single contact, with multiple phone numbers, generates many GMail contacts, for one thing).

Hey Will. This does seem to be a big deal for some. It seems like everyone is moving away from any form of desktop sync as wireless sync has become the standard. I know there is a third party solution already but I personally just use my exchange and Gmail accounts. I do not have the problem with multiple Gmail accounts since they allow you to merge as many as you want with tons of phone numbers. The BlackBerry Z10 fully supports that.

Another alternative is to use a service like Outlook.com which offers free ActiveSync to sync between your device and outlook.

Hi Ronen. I'm going to try and see if Outlook.COM can work for me for this problem. Missing my contacts is a royal pain. I've got the "now" because I copied them from my Torch.

The issue with Gmail is that a single Outlook Contact will create many GMAIL contacts (one for each email and phone number) from my past experience.

I'll post an update once I figure it out.

I assume you can still use the 'swap device' option in DM for the initial changeover?

Hello Steve: You can't Use "DM" for the initial transfer; DM doesn't know about BB10 devices. You'll need to get a copy of "Desktop Link" instead:

    http://ca.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html?LID=ca:bb:software:desktopsoftware&LPOS=ca:bb:software

It will allow you connect the Z10 and your old device (at the same time if you have two cables) and do the transfer really quickly.

Hey Steve, I had the same problem… what a pain. I spent the whole night working on this thinking it was me! The old DM won't let you switch devices and the new desktop link doesn't give you the same kind of options syncing calendars etc.

Will look at outlook.com to see if that works.

I'm currently ok right now since I ported my calendar info to Google, but still painful.

Check out Outlook.com or any other service that offers caldav or activeSync integration and Outlook integration. There are a couple. On top of that I find Google contacts works like a charm. Hell I have contacts coming in from from 4 different sources and it links them beautifully. It puts Android contact linking to shame.

Well, that's good to know…I think. Anyway, I won't have to worry about it until ATT releases a 10 device. I know change can be good sometimes but it seems to me when something works don't fix it! Glad to hear you guys got things working.

Hey Ronen: I have a "live" account which I opened for Skydrive last week, but I forgot what email address I used to sign in with (created a new live account) and can't access the info from my Skydrive file folder like I could with Drop Box!! :( Note to self, never create emails late at night. Anyhoo when I have a moment I'll have to decide which I'll use the Skydrive/Live link up or the Google, either way I'll have to basically port everything over to that account. I'm just concern that with Google Contacts that it would keep duplicating the info on my phone and in the contact file, but you say that it works better and it doesn't do that? Duplicating contacts?

I would recommend the Google route. Not a big fan of Microsoft products. They keep on screwing up good things.
