Customers returning malfunctioning Android phones for repair or replacement are costing operators as much as $2 billion per year, claimed mobile device management firm WDS on Thursday.
By analysing 600,000 technical support calls it handled over the last 12 months, WDS found that 14% of calls concerning Android-powered devices related to a hardware issue compared to 11% for Windows Phone, 7% for iOS and 6% for BlackBerry OS.
