Took RIM long enough. The BlackBerry App World is now the top download in the free apps listing of the BlackBerry App World. RIM must be really big on self promotion! Though I really cannot see the purpose of listing an application as the top download in a list that can only be viewed from that same exact application…
This listing comes from a T-Mobile BlackBerry 8900 so the list may be different on other devices. Still I really cant believe that RIM has not fixed this yet.

How does this make any sense at all?
The number one download application in an Application Store…is the Application Store itself?August 13, 2009 at 1:22 PM #179718
While your in the AppWorld why don’t you download the AppWorld! ummmmm………August 13, 2009 at 1:56 PM #179719
I can believe it. We are still waiting for them to fix the native browser.August 13, 2009 at 2:51 PM #179720
I’m sure it’s listed because it’s counting all the update downloads that people have downloaded from the store.August 13, 2009 at 3:46 PM #179721
Yeah right!!! Anyone who believes that is true should talk to me because I have a nice piece of beach front property in Veags (baby !) I will sell to you dirt cheap!!!August 13, 2009 at 4:08 PM #179722
That can be the only reasoning. Nevrtheless, it is lame that it is listed at all.August 13, 2009 at 4:36 PM #179723
I have the Storm on Verizon, and it is the same as described. The only logic as to why its #1 is that everyone that uses it had to of downloaded it. The only logic as to WHY its there, is for easy access to get updatesAugust 13, 2009 at 6:40 PM #179724
It’s been #1 since v1.1 launched!

RIM is also proud to say the iTunes has not been dowloaded once in App World.
