I just got off a redeye from San Diego and noticed a nice tip from Robert in our tip box. Turns out that RIM has upgraded BIS to version 2.8 over the weekend in North America and Australia from what I can tell. It seems like not all carriers have enabled all the features especially two way Gmail contacts sync but it is definitely coming soon. The contact sync option needs OS 5.0+ anyways which is not even officially released. I am guessing that is why I don’t see the option on my AT&T BIS.
I did a bit more searching and it looks like the readers on the BoyGenius and CrackBerry are having the same issues. Let us know what you find!

This rollout has been much ado about nothing. Perhaps RIM would be best served by keeping things like this quiet until it’s actually rolled out and we can use it!

Rogers in Canada is missing the contact sync option. But seriously, who cares?? There’s a bunch of ways to sync contactsbetween BB and Google.
