Wow that is kind of sad. Any idea if this test was done with the latest Ice cream sandwich update to the Asus Transformer Prime?

I'd rather know if the Playbook is running the latest beta. It runs a lot faster than the released OS.

Whats even more interesting as a couple posters noted, at the end.. near the 4:18 mark... you can see that the Flash banner is showing on the Playbook but is not showing on the Asus.
The tester says the Flash was turned off on both, but, clearly a Flash ad is showing on the Playbook. Even with that it basically matches the Asus.
Even if this was not on ICS, its still very telling.
Remember full OS 2 will come with even more browser enhancements over the OS 2 beta which is even better than current 1.0 browser.
There are many variable unknown about this video, but, what it does show is that a quad core does very little in way of improving the basic tasks people will do on their tablet/smartphone
single core to dual core to quad core are only marginal improvements. If you go single to quad, then sure you will see noticeable improvements. But dual to quad... not so much.
RIM need not get into an arms race over specs. If they have a 1.5 GHZ dual core.. it will be MORE than ok.
As I have continually said the average consumer doesn't give a shit about specs in laptops anymore and they won't give a shit about specs in superphones starting in 2013. This will because every smartphone will have more specs than the OS can take advantage of.

Interesting tidbit:
I ran the sunspider javascript benchmark on 1.0.8 and 2.0 latest released -- and the times (2300ms) are nearly identical. Repeated runs show both devices swapping the lead with just a few ms.
For reference, I think the iPad2 runs that benchmark in 2000-ish ms.
