I'm suddenly getting a message on the Playbook that says App World isn't available in my country. I'm in the US. Anyone else experiencing this?

Corey, I had that exact same problem as well yesterday, all day long. In the US. Haven't tried yet today.
Hmm..well still having it, but if I'm tap fast on an app or category, I can stay in. Or…if I go to BR or CB and go through an app link….
Hmm. Just figured it out. Even though App World can't be ran through the bridge, apparently, if you have it turned off, you can't use AW. I had mine off because I get conflicts between WiFi hotspots that you have to log in to and the bridge. I turned it on…it works.
I been having the same issue for the last two days, haven not really had the free time to mess with it so had not figured it out.
I had that problem twice, went to work, tried again and it had fixed itself. My first attempts were immediately after the update. Have you tried getting on App World again since?
