BlackBerry Bold 9900/BlackBerry Torch 9860 & 9810 look really amazing (Even though I have none of the BlackBerry 7 devices) but I believe just a 1.2 GHz single processor will not do. Yes they have tweeked the Snapdragon processor but still it is not enough to get them ahead in competition. I have even heard/seen that the QNX OS cannot function on a dual-core processor which is a major issue because then they have to stick to a single based processor.
What are your thoughts on this?

I think you meant to say single core. I don't think we really know anything about the new QNX phone yet.
Yes OS7 does not put BB ahead of the competition in terms of spped, but it's a hella improvement and let's be clear the competition is light -years behind in terms of keyboards, email, BBM etc.
In other words by highlighting things like processor and apps you are just falling in line with the zombies of Droid and Apple. Yes there are a hell of a lot of them, but one can just as easily be a berry zombie and say why the hell can't the other do wat's important to me email, BBM etc.
The point is with OS7 we can now say this because the phones work amazingly well for what we like them to do. Having the 9930 I no longer feel one iota of inferiority beside someone with an iPhone 4. They made theirChoice and I made mine.

Well all I can say is to speculate is one thing! But I own the 9810 and the new devices are COMPLETELY different and kick ass! As for QNX patience my young jedi!

my thoughrs are this....
the next phones will be qnx... if its on single or dual it will kick everyones ass
dual core is still barely needed .....

Dual core may not be needed. Just thinking of the automatic functions that processor has can actually play a big roll in RIM battery management. I don't care long as its not a dam 800MHz processor.

I compare the number of cores put into phones today with high end sports cars that can do 200mph and are street legal. What good are they if they can't make use of those speeds on the highway. The same thing can be said for dual core processors and the Android OS. Apps simply don't support dual core yet so who cares. When they can then its an issue.
The new OS 7 devices with 1.2 Ghz processors are a huge jump for RIM and that is what counts. I have used Palm OS pda's and smartphones, PPC (original) Android OS, iOS (ipod touch, ipad and iphone) and BlackBerry from OS 4, 5 and now OS 7. So my real world experience shows me that cores are not the end all be all. Its what the OS can do with the processor speeds and the cores. When RIM has QNX out for the phones they will likely support dual core and be ready as well, but if they release single core phones to start so be it.
It comes down to the OS, what you want the OS to do and how well it does it. I came back to BlackBerry from Android and find the new OS (didn't have OS 6) processor speed and memory to be a nice improvement. In terms of keeping up with the Jone's its, well that is each persons individual interpretation. For now I am not concerned.
