Just phoned up Verizon to talk about my bill. At the end I asked if I could upgrade after a year like I could on AT&T. He said they wouldn't proactively offer me the upgrade but if I called in they might do that.

Then I said it was because the new BB 10 phones were coming out. He said ya they loook really good but they are very far behind and prob not a good idea to go with Blackberry again...

I sure as hell hope RIM knows they have these problems. The keep saying they have excellent carrier relations, but I know my sotry is not unique.

You can either cry or laugh, so : HA HA

1 week from the hard rumored 17th release date.

Less than 3 weeks before end of February

I am getting more pissed at RIM for not announcing anything.

Everyday that goes buy RIM loses customers.

This (<--- click here)is the kind of thing RIM needs to trumpet once BB10 comes.

The article points out that because of QNX, BB10 phones will be able to download and update the OS without ever turning the phone off. No other OS can match this. RIM need to screem this from the mountain tops and show all sorts of other phone downloading and rebooting to get the new OS.

Even if this is small practically they need to create the impression that this is a must and if you don't have it, your phone is out of date!

I just tweeted Alec Saunders to ask if they are still adding features to OS2 and he responded that they are just fixing bugs and testing at this point. I'm thinking the 17th is sounding more real since that date gives them enough time to approve new apps in App World prior to the release.

I know OS2 is not BB10, but for those using the developer version I'd like to know if it is on par with the iPhone.

For example do we still see things like disappearing apps when too many are open? Do you see a lot of high quality Android apps in App World?

We've had some good games come but when I spend sometime with the iPhone I noticed some very useful Apps like the OED (dictionary) that seemed to be totally on the iPhone (not accessed via web).

Are these things there?

Really just curious and also want to set my expectations correctly. if OS 2 is pretty comparable to iPhone we can hope that BB10 will allow RIM to focus on unique things rather than catch up things (not a negative comment, I'm just really curious).

Thanks

I just noticed that RIM is in the App Planet Hall at MWC 2012. I'm not sure, but I think the location may tell us a little about what they are up to. I used to think they might wait to release PlayBook OS2 until MWC, but now I'm thinking they will release it the week before and announce a bunch of new big name apps at MWC. Maybe we'll finally see Skype and Netflix if we're lucky.

I heard OS7.1 has wifi hotspot capability and would love to try it out so I am interested in hearing what OS release people are on before upgrading myself. What has your experience been? I found OS7.1.0.74 on crackberry...is anyone on AT&T w/wifi hotspot enabled? (AT&T of course notorious for slow releases and blocking features).

I do not see another place for this post so please do not flame me.

My Storm2 is dieing rapidly and I do not want to use my upgrade for an OS7 phone as I want the BB10 phone. Anyone have a Storm2 they want to give away or sell.

I am sorely tempted to go the Verizon Galaxy Journal when they release it, but BB thoughts just will not go away. I would go to OS7 if I could afford a Playbook, but that is not in the books until the economy changes.

The media says no BBM on the playbook for OS 2.0. They are interpreting this a technical glitch (can't have same messages go to two PINS).

I think this is garbage. Isn't it more likely the case that RIM collects $5 from every data plan for use of it's netowrk and for this reason putting BBM free on the playbook is undesirable. RIM want you to buy a blackberry with a data plan to get BBM.

There may be some technical issues, but does RIM really have an incentive to solve them???

Tim let me know about the public beta of BerryAddon from an unknown company called Twinkler Software Products. It is in free beta right now but it looks like they will be charging for it in the future since there is a registration page. It just popped up on the radar in the last few weeks and looks like a VERY powerful little tool that takes less than 90kb! There is really no other name for such an app other than an All-In-One utility.

I just wanted to publicly express my thanks to this blog for having sent me the 9900 that I won in one of the competitions. It travelled a bit trough Europe, as friends were testing it, and has now found a home in London :).

Thank you for giving away great prizes! :)

Just saw a sprint commercial full of floating iPhone Apps. The point of the commercial is that the iPhone has so many Apps why would you want to limit their use by being on limited data on ATT and Verizon.

My point however is of all the floating apps, which must be the "best" of them, ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE ON MY BOLD 9930!!!!!

I understand that RIM might want to hold back until the new phones come but people really don't know that BBs pretty much have all the top apps.
