Problem still exists. Internet is definitely working fine in the house, tried restarting the wifi on the playbook...uggh. Guess maybe next thing to do is go to a different wifi hotspot, try it out there.

Haven't had the chance to try again yet today but I went to go buy an app on my playbook yesterday evening and I got a error message along the lines of "payment system is busy please check your connection and try again"...I was definitely connected to the internet since I was surfing the web, app world open fine but when I tried to purchase an app or update an installed app, got the message or nothing would happen. Anyone run into this problem before?

I hear you. You would think that they would make it as easy as possible to give them money. Lol. With their claim of a billion downloads of app world there are going to be a lot of people banging their heads against the wall.

I had the same issue, I had to install via app loader. And the icon appeared. But yes, hopefully there will be an upgrade soon it def NOT should be doing that!

Another bug I seem to have noticed is when I try to make an in-app purchase my device takes me to App World, goes thru the motions of password intake and mayment ok and then right as download starts, kicks it into reboot. If I download an app, free or PAID no problem... But the purchase articles w/in apps this issue has popped up. And I did some trouble shooter, it isn't one particular vendor, it is w/every app's in app purchase... Really hope they fix it, I'm tryna give RIM money here... Lol

I just downloaded the upgrade for AppWorld and the icon disappeared after it was "installed". You would think that they learned from their mistakes because this happened after the last upgrade. So look for another upgrade in the next few days to fix this bug.

I can access the AppWorld (from Spain), but I can't see or install some apps.

Do you know if this method would make them available? I specially miss a podcast app to have my podcast subcriptions ready to listen. Streaming doesn't work nicely when I am driving.

Thanks in advance :)

Ok this time is the "side way" to get into App World from unsupported countries.

This way is known and not new, however I post it in case someone needs it but doesn't know yet.

People from unsupported countries can't access App World can use this alternative solution to fulfill your dream now.

First, google for "Free HTTP Proxy". For example: Proxy!Live - anonymes Surfen im Internet*

Note that free proxy is not staying for long or can be used, in this case, choose and try till getting one working for you.

Or you can purchase for an HTTP Proxy Account from http://proxy.lc for month or year... This is more stable. It's up to you.

Remember to get a supported countries proxies such as US, Canada, Australia... and proxy type should be Anonymous Proxy

When you get one. It could have:

Proxy Server IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Proxy Port: xxx
Username: if there is.
Password: if there is.

On your PlayBook:

+ Get into WiFi Settings.

+ Choose the "Saved Networks".

+ Choose your current WiFi Network

+ Scroll down and check the "Use HTTP Proxy"

+ New fields appear and enter the information such as Proxy Server, Proxy Port...

+ Choose "Save and Connect"

+ Exit Settings and try App World.

Hope this helps.

Louis.

*Thanks much to Doreen from Germany for the site.
