hi

If I do a full back up of my BB9930 and use a "device switch wizard" to a new phone, will it get back on the enterprise server? And if it doesn't is there any point of using the device switch wizard?

Thanks!

(PS for those that know I'm a regular. Was having the 3G 1X issues locally so Verizon is sending me a new phone.)

Haven't had the chance to try again yet today but I went to go buy an app on my playbook yesterday evening and I got a error message along the lines of "payment system is busy please check your connection and try again"...I was definitely connected to the internet since I was surfing the web, app world open fine but when I tried to purchase an app or update an installed app, got the message or nothing would happen. Anyone run into this problem before?

Just updated my 9700 (from OS6 to OS6), no problem but when I took a few pictures with the camera, I noticed that they were going to the internal memory instead of my SD card. I'm pretty certain that was not the case before I updated. I went into Options from the Camera app and under "Store Pictures" it is set to "On Device" but it is greyed out. Anyone know how to set the camera to store to the SD card?

I actually have many questions about Blackberry and the services available so if you have the time I would appreciate it if you could enlighten me on some of these issues. I needed to upgrade my phone and bought a Torch 9810. I do not BBM but have an old all-talk plan from a provider. We are in the Cayman Islands by the way where all things mobile are very expensive. Anyway, I have not signed up for a Data plan but have access to Wi-Fi once Data Services are on. I also noticed that I am able to browse the internet check e-mail once on WI-FI. Also I noticed that when not on WI-FI with Data Services on, I can still browse some sights but anything like e-mail or jaxtrsms does not work. I have apps like GTalk, Yahoo messenger but they don't work even when on Wi-Fi. A message "Service not supported for this handheld." or something similar pops up. So as you can see I am just trying to understand how this all works. The company has $3.00 Social package good for 7 days to do Facebook, IM, etc. no browsing. And a $10.00 Full internet access for 7 days. But I don't know whether things like jaxtrsms would work using these data plans. Anyway, Do service books have anything to do with these settings? Why don't some social apps work even though I have full access to the internet via Wi-Fi? The company told us that these add on packages $3. and $7. are not available to me because I don't have a data plan. We only have a postpaid all-talk plan. This company (LIME) recently upgraded to 4G they claim but all I see is 3G on the screen. Some of contacts have Blackberries but they get edge or EDGE service.

Can someone help me make sense of some of this.

Noticed today that my calculator app has disappeared, no not hidden, did a universal search, looked high and low...can't find it. I've had a lot of problems with random battery drains, memory leaks, hour glasses since upgrading to OS6 on my 9700...probably deleted it when I deleted every single other app in attempt to just restore basic phone functionality (I'm getting the 9790 as soon as it is out) but the point is really not how it happened but how do I restore it? Would be great if someone has an OTA link for those core apps and can provide it...short of an OS reinstall, I'm open to any suggestions.

Made several posts yesterday from my PC but when I went to go read the forum from my PB, the only posts I made that showed were the threads I started, replies to existing threads did not. So, went to my BB and same thing...is this a bug with the mobile edition perhaps? Went back to the PC and they're all there...

Hey guys,

I was think what does the model number mean?? Anyone has any idea?

For example, the bold 9900 has SIX approved model numbers:
RDE71UW, RDE72UW, RDV71UW, RDV72UW, RDY71UW, RDY72UW.
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/32435/BlackBerry_Bold_9900-9930_Smartphones-Safety_and_Product_Information--1334716-0615045228-001-US.pdf

but what does it really mean? I thought they were all the same.. (seems like different bandwidth support?)

If we talk about the use of smart-phones by business users, BB used to be at the top. But it has been observed that iPhone has got more popular this year.

reference:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57326125-37/iphone-more-popular-than-blackberry-for-business-users/

What do you think about this?
What reasons do you think are making people move towards iPhone?
Is there something so great about BB that you still can't think about buying an iPhone instead?

kushalashok on "Why should I buy Blacberry curve 9360?"

I have been planning to buy a BB curve 9360 (the one that falls

in my budget) with BB os7.
Most of the review websites seem to be boasting about iPhone or

android phones. Even the cnet reviews have been neglecting BB's

specialities.

As I don't want a flashy phone to play games, I wanted to go for

BB so that I can easily manage my emails and enjoy the legendary

keypad.

Now the comparisons I found on websites like cnet are only

beating around the bushes.

Can someone give me some solid reasons that can make me more

confident about my decision?

Please compare it with the other smartphones in this range. I'l

be glad if specifications and features are comared in detail. I

would also like to know about the performance differences in iOS

5, BB OS7 and Android Gingerbread.

P.S.: I want a smart-phone not a playbook.

Hi there!
I have a little problem with some
of my emails: the signature.
I know the usual way of changing
it and manage to do it with my
gmail and my new ymail, BUT
with my two old yahoo mail,
there's no way of changing; the
passwords for those two are not
the ones I use on my desktop and
not the same that my main email
account so there's absolutely no
way to change it.
My provider says there's no way
for them of retrieving the
password. That's why if anyone
has a way of contacting RIM's
central Bis support or a solution, it would be
great!
