RIM device switch software failed, and it's looking like the radio signal on this new phone isn't any stronger than the first one. Going from 5 bars to zero randomly. Doesn't switch

I wonder what the issue is. Anyway I can suffer through 9 more month of this phone until I get a BB10 phone. OOps that's assuming Verizon gets one in September and not ATT exclusive.

Anyone else with a 9930? Do you have reception issues?

Have to say I'm a little disappointed now.

Update. Now on the BES but reception issues are the same.

Is this verrizon or RIM??? This is pretty disappointing since it just burns my battery up when it happens.

Which device switch? the phone (media card) based or the computer?

I just got the new phone Friday at 5pm. So I'm not doing it until Monday. Seems like Verizon has some kind of software you download. So I'll just follow them. What I hope doesn't happen, but I think will happen is that it'll switch me back to OS 7.0 from 7.1

I wonder did u try device switch like here:
http://ourberries.com/2011/12/21/blackberry-os7-feature-device-transfer/

I'm not sure if enterprise will work, but if u dont have any IT policy, this should back up pretty much everything (minus ur media and apps and themes etc of cuz) on ur external media card ;)

Thanks guys, I might actually try to get someone at RIM support. The nice thing about being on the enterprise server is once you are connected to it all of your stuff is automatically restored including wifi codes etc. So backing up doesn't really do much unless it avoids having me give th phone to the IT guys to do the enterprise activation.

Sorry for the Epic rant, it just all came together, and the 3G 1X issue has been there since day 1. I just thought it was the Verizon Network. Maybe that's what I get for buying the 9930 one day one! and recall I switched to ATT just to buy the 9930, so despite my moaning and groaning I'm still a big BB fan underneath all of it!! :)

Device switch will allow you to reload all existing data from your old to your new phone. It makes it less painful then backing up and restoring instead...

Can't answer the enterprise question. In theory it should shift all your enterprise info etc. over as well especially if it's the same phone.

Maybe check with your enterpise IT?

Yeah, that was quite a rant wasn't it? A new phone should fix everything. Sorry, I also can't answer the enterprise question. Good luck though

hi

If I do a full back up of my BB9930 and use a "device switch wizard" to a new phone, will it get back on the enterprise server? And if it doesn't is there any point of using the device switch wizard?

Thanks!

(PS for those that know I'm a regular. Was having the 3G 1X issues locally so Verizon is sending me a new phone.)

Problem still exists. Internet is definitely working fine in the house, tried restarting the wifi on the playbook...uggh. Guess maybe next thing to do is go to a different wifi hotspot, try it out there.

Ok, thanks. I'll try again later today and see if the problem still exists.

...what the heck though, RIM? I'm trying to give you my money :)
