However, every time the zero hour comes, the company is always able to resurrect and hence the acquisition rumors are dispelled.</p> <p>Recently, RIM is said to encounter the acquisition again because of the decreasing sales. Sources said, Microsoft and Nokia are planning to acquire RIM and previously, Amazon also intends to do so.</p> <p>It is reported, RIM&#39;s sales in USA have been declined for five quarters consecutively. The company&#39;s revenues were USD1.03 billion for September to November, a drop of 7% from last quarter. RIM stock price closed at USD 13.44, decreasing more than 11% and being its lowest price for eight years. The sharp drop resulted from the bad quarter performance, weak demand for PlayBook, pessimistic estimated for Blackberry sales and delaying announcement of new product. As a result, many people in the industry claim they will not be optimistic about RIM.</p> <p>RIM is in the hopeless situation and may go toward destruction, someone says. For now, there is nobody or no team has ability to save the company. People also say that being acquired may be the important way to rescue RIM or to change the management layer and adjust the development strategy.</p> <p>In the fierce competition, RIM had created an envy of brilliant that the competitors never have but also faced a development dilemma. However, for RIM, this time seems to be zero time to decide whether RIM succeeds or not.</p> <p>So how RIM will develop in future? Will it succeed in making a breakthrough by itself or be acquired by others? What forces the company to face the current situation? With the questions, IT business reporter had an interview with Junping Teng, the director of Chinese mobile phone software development alliance.</p> <p>Currently, it is hard to say whether RIM will be acquired and it is necessary to see the developing trends of mobile internet and mobile terminal, said Teng. In terms of changing management layer, adjusting developing strategy and selling RIM, Teng said, it is not just so simple because Blackberry was once so brilliant. As the framework of management layer, design concept and technology supports and so on are prepared for the past so it boosted RIM’s success but it may cause RIM’s failure.</p> <p>It is because RIM hasn&#39;t responded to the market changes promptly; in addition, affected by the macroeconomic environment and its own system culture, RIM is now in the plight. So if the smartphone misses the best time to be released, RIM may encounter huge adverse effect. However, Teng said the situation will not be so bad and it needs time to verify it in the future.
