- Why on this planet people listen to BGR's hallucinations and actually repeat them I'll never know.
- The release on the Vodafone site is not current (the current proper beta is at least Bundle 32) and I wouldn't recomment using that Voda release unless you're willing to take a lot of risks with your BlackBerry data.
- Here is the link for Android Applications which have been beaten into submission. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgxpYlYAxOVMdEJRZkZaa0ZrQzVEQjVMVmNFNGV1Z0E&hl=en_US#gid=0
- I have a little collection I've been using to test. Please PM me and I'll send a link. There is a great collection of folks working full blast on testing these applications and porting them to the PB as fast as they can. There are some limitations, of course (it's a beta after all) but I am not having issues worth whining about.
- I really don't believe you need to do a Wipe. It's always a good idea to, however, just that you don't NEED to. My PB upgraded just fine.
- Most of my Android applications worked fine after the first boot. Angry Birds, Google Maps. A couple didn't for some reason. As above: clicking on the "new messages" button top left of the screen doesn't launch Bridge properly but opening the Bridge Folder allows you to connect to any of the applications just fine without the localhost:187 hack.
- To get it to update faster just re-register your PIN where you previously registered. DM didn't see it nor did the Check-for-updates button. It's not the fastest download on the planet, however...
- This is a fairly significant advance from the previous leak in that this new build handles synchronisation of Organiser data quite a bit better. The previous build had issues with multiple folders, for example. I synchronise both Work and Personal data onto my 9810 and I have more than 5 Contact Folders (I use Folders instead of Categories) . This new build is far from perfect. Unless you have a sense of humour and enjoy testing things and finding and solving issues, then leave it alone. I'll torture it a little further and let you know how it goes.
- DM7 is a completely new synchronisation mechanism entirely (no longer Intellisync).
- There are quite a bit of little cosmetic changes and especially the help pulldown menu is quite different. This is on top of the additional support for new devices. --TT
