- is bes premium required? if that's the case then mvs will be irrelevant to the masses of bis users. :/
- @rim: when are you going to upgrade from t1?
- *sigh* still no storm/2 love...
- hmm. windows vista or 7? if so, try again after disabling user account control (uac) in control panel. what version of blackberry desktop manager is installed? 5.0 or higher is strongly recommended.
- one final mention, all of the f-key combinations are here: http://mcpfx.com/page.php?22
- grr, stupid tags. %temp%\your_device_pin
- quick follow up... the device switch wizard puts your add-on cod's in %temp%\ - mentioned in greater detail at http://mcpfx.com/page.php?9
- i wanted to say thank you for writing this faq/howto. i need to update my site so the help is written more in "howto" fashion so it is easier to get to specific tasks. a few things i would like to point out in addition to everything here: you can tap F6 to jump directly to the save modules page instead of learning the navigation icons. F1 through F12 take you to different areas, almost all of the icons normal navigation areas. for a full backup i normally run DM's normal database backup, then i run DM's device switch wizard as if i am actually going to switch devices --- but obviously i stop when it is done with the first part --- this will make a backup of all add-on and ota cod files and will actually retain some settings if restored correctly. then i use MCP to backup all third party cod's as shown here: http://mcpfx.com/ximages/x03-backup.png - much of the information concerning these abilities is here: http://mcpfx.com/page.php?23 - i will get the documentation side of things a little more organized as soon as i can. after an os installation i restore everything in the exact opposite order with the rim databases going in absolutely last. detailed step by step os installation instructions are here: http://mcpfx.com/page.php?9 thanks again for the faq, hopefully this additional information will help! -d
- whatever they push out to the masses will get a few bugfixes and that should be about it for a year or two. case in point: facebook. that thing is still getting bad reviews and i don't think i've seen a release in over a year or close to it. and in all of these rim tools (all IMs, myspace, facebook, twitter)... where is the option to login to and save information for multiple accounts? sure message list integration is cool, but i can only hope someday twitter will get some love from beejive so i can login to more than one account at a time.
- any invites?
