- About time! It took them over a year to plug that hole. The biggest problems were the fact that any user had access to the API keys of any app they wanted and that any competitor had access to your source code. So even if having keys in the client is not the most secure way to build an app, at least RIM is making it more difficult to steal IP.
- APIs, APIs, APIs. PlayBook failed big time on that front. There were not enough APIs for AIR and even less for WebWorks which means apps couldn't deliver the same experience customers are used to on other platforms. Every hardware functionality and every RIM service must be available through APIs and this has to be delivered before the hardware is released, so that apps can be tested and released on time. Beta test Another fail for RIM who releases untested OS version to the public. They need to let dev test RTMs or gold version in case regressions popped up. Pay to get major apps on the platform We don't want launchers, we want the real thing. Most of the time, there are APIs available, they just need someone to code the apps, just like they're doing on BBOS.
- Only works with activesync though...
- I hope that they drastically improve BIS and give us full IMAP folder management on BB10 devices. They did a good job for corporate email with BES for those relying on M$ tech, but there is so much more they can do with direct IMAP/Exchange connections.
- It's easy. They film the scene and let you go back in time.
- It would be a nice coup if RIM had bought Scalado. Their tech is amazing, but I think we're just going to see the same thing on Android pretty soon as they've been demoing their tech on HTC devices for a while now.
- Nice device. I can see cops in movies and TV series using them ;)
- I like the concept of predictive apps where the apps you would use next are waiting offscreen, but I'm curious to see how multitasking will be handled. I don't want to have to swipe through 10 apps to reach the one I need. I also really hope we'll have corner swipes and swipe down.
- It will probably be for BB10 only. We've been waiting forever for a version which supports BBOS and it never came to light.
