1. The delay in releasing the APIs for the core functionality is worrisome... just as the beta release not including the core functionality. Why is RIM holding back on this? My fear is because it still doesn't work. Its only 3 weeks until Feb 17. I hope they don't miss their dates (again) as that will not send a good message.
2. Promising... who knows, RIM might actually hit this self imposed target date. Having a useful playbook would be awesome. Right now i have a 64gb PB and a 10.1 Tab running an ICS prerelease ROM. Even though i prefer the Playbook size, I still find myself using android 90%+ of the time due to the OS/Apps situation. I want to believe in RIM again. They need to get 2.0 out asap.
3. I have to say that looks like a pretty lame contest. For a world class company like RIM to have grand prizes consisting of meeting no-name "celebrities" is pretty weak. I think you could get more insight into success by meeting Jim Balsillie's personal chef.
4. I just bought a 64GB Playbook yesterday on faith that 2.0 will not be a letdown. After having bought and returned a 1.x 16GB version last year, plunking down $300 is my good faith ante that they won't let us down (again).
5. ok...why can i not organize my feeds into groups? i just imported about 50 feeds from my nicely organized google reader. i am now the proud owner of a jumbled mess in my playbook. frustrating that this app is so half baked .
6. That's a good start. I bought a playbook last week but have been debating returning it as the two apps i use more than any other on my old tab are google reader and Google listen. Neither app has a decent equivalent on the playbook. Playbook is pretty app baren still. It's a shame as it's a pretty peppy device and I do like the os.
7. OK I've run this OS for the last few days and I'm VERY impressed. - battery life has gone up A LOT (my biggest issue with 9900) - wifi hotspot works well - overall very peppy and stable. The only bug I seem to have is occasionally calls will answer in speakerphone mode vs. handset or vice versa but the screen doesn't reflect the active mode properly. I'm not sure if maybe my face is hitting the screen or what... but it definitely behaves oddly once in a while. Overall though a great upgrade.
8. That is one ugly phone. More Buck Rogers than Samsung. bdabdabdabdabdab... (ok I'm aging myself).
9. … but blackberry apps still totally suck when compared to android/apple apps. Hopefully the next gen hardware + BBX provide a platform where apps can be made that actually do something useful.
10. RIM just continues to fade and fade and fade. Its sad to watch another Canadian tech company ride into the sunset.
