- I think what everyone is missing on this announcement is this: With PB OS 2.0 being delayed till February 2012 I have to assume that the BBX phones will be released this time next year then. That hurts bad. I was kind of holding off on getting a 9900 since the BBX phones were supposedly coming out Q1 of 2012 but with this announcement that has been pushed back to at least Q3 2012 in my mind. Very disheartening.
- I would love a pair of these for when I just want to go wireless rather than using my MeElectronics M6P-BK's.
- Just so happens I have all the software needed already installed on my pc here at work from when I rooted my android phone. Only problem is I am about to leave for the day. :( May try once I get home though. Would be cool to have netflix on the playbook. Also will try a few other apps. :)
- It would be nice if Virgin Mobile (the other Sprint pre-pay carrier) got this or a 9650. Then it would be a berry worth getting. The current 8530 just ain't got "it". lol
- I hope they let those of us already on the $25/month plan stay on it. I just jumped ship from AT&T to VM cause I love the $50 for two lines as opposed to the $150+ I was paying for AT&T.
- I also like how the phone says 12.1MP camera but the description says 1.3MP. Should get it and claim false advertisement. lol
- OMG is that a front facing camera on it!!!! Sorry I had to cause I just know someone was gonna do it. ;) But seriously, if that thing didn't blow up on you when you first powered it on it would be worth the $80. I mean I just spent $150 on a no-contract android (granted it is CDMA and locked to virgin mobile but still). This $80 phone would be a decent backup for those still on a GSM carrier. It may last a day or three until you can get a real replacement phone.
- I got tired of the outrageous fees with AT&T so I jumped ship for Virgin Mobile. Still got my playbook but it is hooked up to my LG Optimus V via the mobile hotspot. Works just fine. :)
- I wonder if this will be available to those of us who have the lifetime subscription. Hmmm... :)
- My wife and I actually just jumped ship from AT&T to go to Virgin Mobile. Between her iPhone and my Torch we were spending over $150/month on service. Ended up moving to Virgin Mobile and getting the LG Optimus V (android) and both of our phones are $24.01/month each with the 300 minutes, unlimited data/text/web/etc. The Optimus isn't my Torch and I miss alot about my Blackberry in general but you gotta do what you gotta do really. I still have my Playbook that connect to the Optimus' built in wifi hotspot feature. The only gripe I have about VM (or Sprint in general since that is who they ride on over here in the US) is the network speed and latency. If I use Skype (or any other voip software) on the phone and I am not on wifi I get a horrible 1.5-3 second delay on the audio coming to me from whoever I am talking to. Although my audio is being delivered within half a second to the other party. Oh well... it is the price you pay for cheap cell service!
