- nice contest, I'm in.
- RIM is Canadian, would love to see some NHL ones. But lots of great ones to choose from.
- I've gotta disagree. I don't feel theres any difference in typing time between surepress and none surepress devices. I believe there was a typing comparison done between the Storm 2 and the iPhone (by an apple supporter iirc). And there was no real difference speed wise. Now what does make surepress better than non-surepress devices is the simple navigation of the phone. With non-surepress devices you have to be mindful at all times of where you're touching the screen (ie. when scrolling through your apps). Which does take time, always thinking and mindfully touching the screen at a certain spot. I would say mis-clicks occur 10000% more on non-surepress. I personally will not buy another touchscreen device that doesn't have surepress or some similar technology to distinguish when I want to initiate something or I'm just scrolling etc.
- I like to keep an eye on what kind of support questions are coming in on our apps. And believe it or not, 30% or more deal with people not knowing what their PIN is. We get people providing passwords to who knows what, 4 digit numbers that I can only assume are the pin to the CC that was used for the purchase etc. Other popular Q's are how do I select multiple things in the list, where do I find my OS version. I can say first hand there's a lot of people that could benefit from these. That is of course as long as these types of questions are answered.
- "Flexilis researchers have already identified virus-tainted versions of popular smartphone applications such as Google Inc's Google Maps software and computer games." This is the problem. There are a lot of free application sites popping up, and you really can't be sure what you're getting. Even on the mobihand network I may be mistaken, but I don't think theres any sort of review process do ensure that harmful software is being kept out. As you said Ronen, anyone with $20 can get access to the secure API's and find out all the information about every contact on your phone, as well as all the email conversations you've had, what apps you have etc. etc. Information is money, this is what they want, and it's not hard to get it if someone installs the program (And as this article says, you may think you're installing something else).
- we have to contact you? meh..forget it then, too much work
- I made a geocities site when I was in highschool that was better than that
- Thanks BerryBlow. Looking forward to playing this, the graphics look top notch.
- I agree, that was a terrible idea by those developers to turn that on by default. Really to include it was pretty stupid. No user would care if it wasn't a feature.
- This is a pretty pointless application when you have to have it connected over USB. If it was BlueTooth...maybe, but still you can just install drivesafely and have the phone read it to you without having to touch it. No need for the extra computer app etc. and you can't even reply.
