- Any chance this will run on BESx?
- If you are in the Cincinnati, OH area, we are also honoring this offer. I threw out some pricing on our blog: http://blog.v1corp.com/2011/10/31/who-wants-a-free-blackberry-playbook/
- I'm going to be the oddball that argues filing is helpful. I use Outlook 2010 with Conversation View. If I dont file, I end up with conversations that include emails from multiple parties for unrelated matters. I also have a 2GB mailbox, so searches can get a bit sluggish from OWA or my handheld (when choosing to do a Remote search). If I specify what folder to search in, it saves me a lot of time. To each their own, but I like my filing system. :-p
- And SP3 brought the FaceBook/LinkedIn integration back that SP2 broke!
- It's hard to say whether RIM stole the idea or they just happened to think it up by themselves without realizing Apple had already implemented it, but I think the former is more likely. Regardless, it is a welcome feature on any device. I have carried a BlackBerry for 7 years and don't see why people are so crazy over the iOS or Android platforms, but I had to play devil's advocate for a moment when I saw the comment indicating the XOOM and iPad were lacking the screenshot feature. I still would take a PlayBook over any other tablet ;)
- Like I said, I'm no Apple fanboy, but people are pointing out that other tablets don't do this, but I'm wondering if anyone tried an iPad. I imagine it does, since the iPhone does and the OS is so similar...unless Apple really dropped the ball!
- Has anyone tried this on an iPad? Don't get me wrong, I am by no means an Apple fanboy, but the iFail...err...iPhone already does this. I have a 3G model running iOS 4.2.1 that has the screenshot feature by pressing the Home and Lock keys simultaneously (I carry a BlackBerry; I only repair and resell the iPhone :-p). I don't know when the feature was introduced on the iPhone, and while I commend RIM for including this on the PlayBook, I'm afraid they kinda stole the idea.
- Am I reading this right? Does BESx 5.0.3 require Server 2008 R2 and SQL 208 R2?
- I use the Memos app to take notes in most meetings, and I change the profile to Vibrate when I go into a meeting anyway. I ignore calls, but I am guilty of occasionally replying to or composing emails while in the meeting, but I do it in pieces so that I can still pay attention to the meeting itself. I'm an IT consultant, and 99% of my client communication is done electronically. If a customer has a problem, the first thing they do is email me, and if I were to ignore emails in meetings, I would lose customers; you won't convince me that smartphones in meetings are rude ;)
- It was mostly for Ronen, since he mentioned that he would like to see an SSH client. It isn't very helpful unless you are in the IT industry (and even then, you need to be pretty nerdy to want SSH on the go :-p)
