I just read this interesting article on Gigaom. Turns out that Verizon is starting to offer classes on how to use a smartphone. This actually makes sense. Carriers are pushing more and more value added services while some of their users are still figuring out what a text message is. Their first round of classes [...]

It seems like CDMA users won’t be too far behind GSM users with OS 4.5 this time around. Links to OS 4.5.0.33 for the BlackBerry 8330 & 8830 are popping up all over the web. We have already had 3 different sets of links sent in to us as tips over the last day.
I tried the 8330 [...]

Engadget mobile has been having fun trickling out news about Verizon’s upcoming visual voicemail service. It seems like the touchscreen Thunder is set to follow in the iPhones footsteps with a visual voicemail offering. The downside seems to be that it will cost an extra $1.99 a month. Not bad compared to the current visual [...]

First things first. No we do not know where to download OS 4.5 for the 8830. With that done Matt just sent me an image that he posted on CrackBerry forums of his Verizon BlackBerry 8830 running OS 4.5. The specific version is OS 4.5.0.33. In guess Verizon is testing out the new OS. [...]

This Verizon Exclusive & AT&T Exclusive setup is really starting to get to me with the BlackBerry Thunder & Bold. Here is the latest juicy rumor…
BoyGenius noted yesterday with some detail that the BlackBerry Thunder will not have the GSM radios necessary to work on any North American carrier. The GSM functionality will be for roaming [...]

All of you CDMA users realize that Verizon and Sprint are the last to receive any OS update love. So it was nice when one of our readers, Paul, dropped me a tip that they have update their OS on 5/30/2008. The new features in the latest OS are miniscule but still nice to see:
Verizon [...]

Chad sold out! I guess this means that Verizon will take the title of the largest wireless network by buying the 5th largest.
Personally I tried reading all this stuff in the press release made by Vodaphone about the acquisition but I don’t understand half of it. Personally it set off my bullshit detector… I couldn’t [...]

There have been rumblings about this for quite awhile now but it seems like things are getting closer to a decision. Darren Murph of Engadget is reporting that Verizon is once again in talks with Alltel to broker a deal. The latest update originates from CNBC.
I don’t understand much of the background but to me [...]

You can pick up the new 8330 CDMA Curve from Verizon Wireless for $219 after a 2 year contract and $100 online discount at this link. Supposedly there is also another $50 rebate you get somehow.
Sadly I find it very hard to get excited about a year old device that is finally making its way [...]

I always love when carriers just shoot themselves in the foot. Verizon announced today that they will release the 8330 in… wait for it… May. Talk about seriously dangling the proverbial carrot. All the other carriers have had the Curve for months! Oh an by the way WES is in… May.
The only two features that look [...]
