I have been trying to stay on the sidelines of this whole RIM security issue with India. Personally I originally thought it was a big hoax to get RIM to open a NOC in India to create more Indian tech jobs. RIM’s proposed solution to the problem is kind of interesting. It seems like Google [...]

Since RIM announced their amazing results this quarter I have been hearing so many different stories as to why. These stories range from the logical to the downright fanciful. One news source even blamed it on a chronic BlackBerry addiction sweeping the nation.
My two favorites are the iPhone theory and the carrier theory.
The iPhone [...]

I was just reading a post on the official Google Mobile blog about Androids first 5 months of existence. Some of these things are stuff RIM should have been doing ages ago. Also note by the way the fact that RIM does not even have an official blog beyond press releases that come days after [...]

RIM has astounded many with Q4 and year end revenue that doubles the previous year. Most of the growth is attributed to device sales with 2.18 million new subscribers in the last quarter of 2007.
In short RIM is doing very well… I will leave it at that. For the sake of all the people out there who actually [...]

First things first… I was talking to myself yesterday about all the things RIM should really do and this was not even on the list. Do we really need another forum dedicated to BlackBerry? I am going to head into this with high hopes but my experience with the AT&T forums has been a dissapointment [...]

T-Mobile and RIM finally came out of the closet and announced the release of the 8120 with WiFi. Not much else is new but it is the Pearl 2. The cool part about the whole release is the chance to win one of over 1,000 BlackBerry 8120s just by registering at this link. Winners are [...]

I always love when carriers just shoot themselves in the foot. Verizon announced today that they will release the 8330 in… wait for it… May. Talk about seriously dangling the proverbial carrot. All the other carriers have had the Curve for months! Oh an by the way WES is in… May.
The only two features that look [...]

Okay I am going to need some help with this theme. I remember seeing it on mobile.blackberry.com a few times since it just showed up earlier this month. I just am not sure which devices the theme is available for since RIM does not tell you outright. I have checked and it worked with an [...]

After us mistakenly posting (Thanks Kevin) about the 8120 being released on T-Mobile today I decided to verify this one. In a not so surprising move AT&T has grabbed up the 8120 today for general release. It has been passing around business channels for a bit now so I guess a consumer release was to be expected.
You can [...]

One of our readers, Matt, sent in an email that the Facebook app for BlackBerry has been quietly updated to a new version. As is common with RIM we will get no changelog so I guess I will have to ask all of you to tell us if you notice anything different. The latest version [...]
