Simon at BBcool just caught wind of the 4.2.1 OS update for the BlackBerry 8703e. This is big news for Verizon and CDMA users since they have been left out in the cold since the GSM version of 4.2 has been out for months. The reason so many people care is that many of the new [...]

I just read an interesting interview RIM ran in the Small Business Editon of their newsletter this month. They interview Yahoo! EVP Marco Boerries about the Push 2–way sync now available for BlackBerry devices. Personally the 2–way push is old news but I found that the content pointed towards much more cooperation between RIM and [...]

Simon at BBcool has heard from the grapevine that we should be expecting to see BlackBerry Unite in the US sometime in early December. If you remember from before BlackBerry Unite is a quasi-BES solution for personal users to share documents, media, calendar, and contacts with up to 5 people. RIM has been teasing us [...]

I just read a very interesting FAQ article on RIM’s Knowledgebase. The article discusses an issue with Belkin routers and the 8320 and 8820 WiFi-berry’s. It turns out that when you connect these berry’s to a Belkin router it may cause your BlackBerry to reboot. The interesting part is that RIM recommends you update to [...]

There have been multiple copies of Desktop Manager 4.3 showing up on Vodaphone’s website and others but RIM has finally released the download on their own website at this link. You have to click on the link “Download BlackBerry Device and Desktop Software” and then select Desktop Manager 4.3. There is both an English and [...]

Magmic has just announced and released 2 new games for BlackBerry. The first is NBA 2–on-2 Slam which looks like a cool 3D Basketball game. I think that is the second major sports game I have seen from Magmic after NFL Gridiron.
The second game is called HOYLE 4-in-1 Rummy Pro which is a rummy game [...]

I just read in Bloomberg that RIM is once again heading out to the courthouse but this time they are going against LG. RIM thinks that the new Black Label phones by LG infringe on their trademark. They hope to bar LG from using the Black Label name and expect to recieve “unspecified damages” .
I [...]

Sorry guys I forgot to mention this one with the last two posts. RIM has really just been keeping the features coming. I can’t imagine why they would put an equalizer on their phone application but not have one in the media player application!!! Sadly this does not work with anything other than the earpiece [...]

This has been a long time coming. I always thought the voice note function of OS 4.2 was useless since it could only be used for BBmessenger and MMS messages. I have just read some confirmation with screenshots that the new OS 4.3 will allow you to email, PIN, and instant message voice notes to [...]

This speaks for itself (Check out the original KnowledgeBase article here):
SureType® Enhancements
Word Completion
As BlackBerry smartphone users type, a list of word options is displayed when the BlackBerry smartphone user pauses. The vertical list consists of word selections that are the closest match to the word the BlackBerry smartphone user is trying to type. The BlackBerry [...]
