Review: BBSmart Alarms Pro
Rating: 9/10
Link: www.blackberrysmart.com
Cost: $15 @ BerryReview Store
This software was mentioned when it was released in May, but I thought that it definitely deserved a full blown review, seeing as it has earned a permanent spot on my 8830!
Alarms Pro is another piece of software that should have been part of [...]

I don’t know why Google is hating on the 8300 & 8800 series but this is cool none the less. They just announced that they are now supporting voice search in their latest version of Google Maps for the 8110, 8120, & 8130. It uses the same technology as the free GOOG-411 service many people [...]

S4BB just sent me an email letting me know that they have opened a public beta for their new application TaskMailer. TaskMailer lets you easily create and email a task from your BlackBerry. Essentially you create the task and email it out in iCal and/or vCal format so that you can import it into Outlook, [...]

I know quite a few people who have asked me if there was a keyboard shortcut to send an SMS message. Just like you can hit ‘C’ to compose an email.
BerryCoder once again comes to the rescue with QSMS. If you install this application you can use the ‘Q’ shortcut to compose an SMS!

I just got an email from BerryCoder that they have released a free memory optimization application for BlackBerry. They claim it frees up to 5MB of memory on your BlackBerry no matter what the type! Not only it releases memory, you will also feel slight increase in response time. MaxMem will remove apps, themes, and [...]

BlipSocial is a bit hard to describe. Kevin @ CrackBerry did a decent job so I thought I would take a crack at it. Essentially it takes a few applications and adds your location awareness to the mix. It works with or without GPS but obviously it is better with. I have not tested it [...]

I know we mentioned this early last month but the software was not available then and we kind of forgot about it. Harold just sent me a link to the download page and the application actually looks quite cool. Now you can act on those insider trading tips while smoking your cigar at the boys [...]

I know many previous Palm & Windows Mobile users mourned losing SplashMoney when they moved to the BlackBerry. Well mourn no longer!
I was just informed that SplashData has released SplashMoney for BlackBerry. SplashMoney was one of the best finance management applications for Palm and I am hoping the BlackBerry version will be just as impressive. [...]

I guess there was a high demand from Spanish speaking users for PhoneTag but Mexico seems to be first. PhoneTag has just announced that their Spanish visual voicemail service is now available in Mexico along with the US, Canada, & Australia.
You can sign up for the new Spanish service at www.phonetag.com/es
Sadly since the service requires [...]

The creators of Profile Scheduler, Wheatoncs, just released the public beta of BBText2IM. BBText2IM provides threaded SMS functionality for the BlackBerry. Surprisingly many people miss threaded SMS from their Palm Treos so I guess this will fill the gap. You can find the original announcement thread here and the public beta release at this link [...]
