I have to start off this post by saying that these instructions probably do not work for the 8130. With that said Rcbjr (AKA Richard ) has kindly allowed us to republish the great instructions he posted on PinStack.com on how to unlock vendor themes. Yes these are the same instructions we referenced before but [...]

S4BB has decided to come up with an application that will fill the gap between the native RIM task application and their $49.99 priced NextAction. Their solution was a new application called TaskMaster with a more reasonable price point of $19.99.
I have not managed to find any comparison at all between NextAction and the lower [...]

Our friends at BBSmart have done us a favor and developed a homescreen launcher application for www.BerryReview.com. This application will put an icon on your homescreen that will take you directly to the BerryReview.com Mobile Edition homepage. I know quite a few of our readers have asked for such an application. Check it out below:
You can [...]

I like this new trend. Up until now WiFi used to be relatively pointless unless you were using it for T-mobile@Home UMA access. The problem was that only the browser, email, and UMA made any use of the WiFi connection. This was a real pain for people using 3rd party apps that could not connect over the [...]

I know many of you use the Empower Email Viewer so I think you would be interested in this news. Ani, one of the developers of Empower, has just sent a email out to all of the beta testers about some new bug fixes and the upcoming WiFi capabilities.
I also noticed that the new version of [...]

Wu-wei has followed up on his older themes with a new lighter theme appropriately called “Brighter.” The theme is available for 8300 devices and 8800 devices running OS 4.2.1. It has a nice minimalist feel and seems to be a play on the RIM logo in the background. The author focused on very striking fonts [...]

Right after I posted about Gary’s Cowboys theme I discovered that he has also released a free Chicago Blackhawks theme. I guess Gary has some loyalties (or friends) in Dallas and Chicago. Hopefully Gary is working his way through more teams as we speak.
The Chicago Blackhawks theme follows the same style as the Cowboys but [...]

UPDATE: Theme appears to no longer be available. I have removed it from the directory for now.
Gary has released a free Dallas Cowboys theme for the BlackBerry 8100 and 8300 devices. The theme looks quite good and will be a hit for any Cowboys fan. The only complaint I really have is that the homescreen [...]

Editors Choice Award Winner!

Empower InstaSpell has been around for quite awhile now but after RIM came out with a free native spell checker I thought it would be irrelevant. Now that I have had a few months to play with the native [...]

Paul sent in a tip earlier that Google Maps has been updated from version 2.0.1 to version 2.0.2. As you may remember version 2 of Google Maps brought us location tracking VIA cellphone towers. This new version 2.0.2 has no changelog (come on Google!) and when I installed it I really could not tell any difference between [...]
