I know many people use the renown Beyond411 to do quick lookups on their BlackBerry but I just found a piece of software that caters better to certain uses. The new vTap beta for WikiPedia does an amazing job of providing search results as you type. It shows you the results and when you click [...]

I had forgotten about MidpSSH until Josep of MiBlackBerry reminded me of this wonderful free application. Personally I use Rove/Idokorro’s Mobile SSH application to access my servers but free applications are always useful for casual users. The only problem with MidpSSH is that it does not support input buffering like Idokorro’s Mobile SSH application. The [...]

There are two free applications for BlackBerry that allow you to post to your Mini-Blog from your BlackBerry. I am not personally into “Stream of consciousness” blogging but I have quite a few friends who post to their Twitter or Jaiku Blog daily. The two applications are free and seem to be quite useful:
TwitterBerry - [...]

I was reading an article on the New York Times website about this clever new service appropriately called Clever Commute. This email service is a peer to peer email mailing list where users with BlackBerry’s or other email enabled devices share commute advice with each other. The lists are highly moderated and specific to the [...]

BeamBerry is a free (for now) application that allows you to view certain attachments from your BlackBerry. The reason I am mentioning it is because they have just released Version 2.0 of BeamBerry that adds quite a few new features. I personally use BeamBerry as a backup for the native attachment viewing on my BlackBerry. [...]

I personally wanted to set the record straight since I love this theme and wanted to give the creator their due praise. Once again [...]

xPlayer is one of my favorite new applications for the BlackBerry. The media player reminds me of Winamp and just gets the job done with a very user friendly interface that now also has theme options. As I mentioned before it also helps that the software is completely free when compared to the competition and [...]

One of our readers, David, asked me how he can view stock quotes and updates on his BlackBerry. As of now I have found 3 solutions for this, 2 of them are well known commercial solutions and the last is one I became aware of recently. The first is PocketDay Personal or Pro which is [...]
