Telstra Australia has released the first of the v4.5.0.xx firmware for their 8310 devices today. Hopefully this will be the first of many of the new operating system upgrades across all networks in Australia. You can get the upgrade at this link; Download

I was having some issues with my Gmail (BIS) account yesterday and finally figured out what was happening. Google forgot to renew their SSL certificate for Gmail. This caused most of the mail clients that connect to Gmail to throw up red flags. I wonder who is getting the flack about this at Google…

With a release date right around the corner this was inevitable. Turns out that two retailers have just started accepting pre-orders for the BlackBerry Bold. TigerDirect is offering the Bold unlocked for $649.99 win a ship date ETA of September. Mobile City Online is offering it for $699.99 with a estimated ETA of August 14th.

Sprint has finally released the Airave home cellphone tower that we mentioned before. The price is still too high in my opinion but the idea is very interesting. PhoneScoop just let us know that the Airave is now available for purchase from Sprint for $99.99.
