Google has been introducing a new feature called Scribbles in Gmail starting with their iOS app and now they have extended it to the Gmail website. Google has announced that the new feature is now live on the PlayBook, iOS, and Android browsers. My drawing skills suck but feel free to show off some of your work in the comments!

YouTube’s website on BlackBerry devices has been pretty pitiful since it first launched. Google has slowly been updating their mobile sites but iPhone and Android versions have always come first. It seems like Google techs are starting to pick up BlackBerry 7 devices because more of their properties are now showing higher end mobile experiences for newer BlackBerrys.

The latest is YouTube getting an HTML5 mobile version for BlackBerry 7 devices spotted by Bla1ze @CrackBerry. Nothing crazy new but hopefully Picasa will also get an overhaul. You can check out the new YouTube HTML5 experience at www.youtube.com from your BlackBerry 7 device.

I am not sure exactly when this happened but I remember checking earlier in the week and Twitter was still sending me to the subpar mobile site. Brian let me know that Twitter is now forwarding BlackBerry PlayBook users to their HTML5 tablet site which is way more usable. I am absolutely loving it now and it sort of makes a PlayBook Twitter app semi redundant except for notifications. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

FINALLY. I have been waiting for Google to finally get their act together and realize that BlackBerry OS 6 has a WebKit browser just like Android and iPhone. They just announced on their blog that they have revamped Google search and a couple of related properties for the BlackBerry OS 6 browser. The new interface is really slick and really enhances the experience. The only real problem is that RIM still seems to be sending us to the desktop search page from the browser search bar… Still I love the new autocomplete feature.

Here are the new features:

• Enter searches faster: Save time by using autocomplete and search history queries that appear beneath the search box as you type.
• Web search: Find what you’re searching for fast. Comprehensive results pages let you see relevant websites, images, videos, news, real-time results and more. Simply click on the arrow button ‘>>’ to the left of the top search box for more refinement options.
• Image search: Swipe through image results quickly and easily on touch enabled devices. Start by selecting ‘Images’ at the top of www.google.com, then enter a search. From there, click on any image to view a larger size.
• Local search: Find restaurants, shops and other popular business categories with a single tap. Start by selecting ‘Places’ at the top of www.google.com, then click on an icon from the Places homepage.

According to Google “These features and more are available on most RIM OS 6.0+ devices with WebKit browsers like the BlackBerry Torch and BlackBerry Bold 9780, and can be accessed in 20 languages across 70 countries.”

To check it out simply go to www.google.com from your BlackBerry with OS 6.0. You may need to clear your cache to get it to work.

I am always on the lookout for slick flash websites that work on my BlackBerry PlayBook. I was impressed when @BerryInformed pointed out WeatherSpark to us on Twitter. The WeatherSpark website provides tons of weather data for your location in their flash beta site. They definitely should package this up into a PlayBook app but it does work well in the browser.

It gives you radar maps, graphs, broken down forecast, historical weather, multiple sources of data and more. If you have been looking for such a think I highly recommend checking out www.weatherspark.com from your PlayBook! Its also fun to use on your desktop.

Quite a few readers sent this in as a tip so I thought it would be worth mentioning. There are thousands of websites and tools out there that help you save YouTube videos from your browser though most of them are targeted at desktops and not tablets. PlayBookRevolution decided to do something about that and released a nice script and dedicated page to help you simply copy and paste the YouTube video link to generate download links.

Simply head on over to this link and paste your video link. It should work on YouTube, Metacafe, Daily Motion, Google, and a maybe other sites. Let us know if you find any other tips. Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

PackageTrackr has all the regular carriers covered in the US including others like Canadian Post along with 15 or some others I cannot recognize like CEVA, Aramex, Hongkong Post, Parcelforce, and many more. It will usually autodetect the carriers.

PackageTrackr does not have a BlackBerry app (yet?) but they do have a nice mobile version of their desktop site www.packagetrackr.com.

You can get to the mobile site at www.packagetrackr.com/m/ or go to the iPhone optimized version which looks beautiful on my Torch at www.packagetrackr.com/iphone/. Let us know what you use to track packages on your BlackBerry? I used to use Viigo but that is a lost cause since they have yet to support OS 6.

This new Bluefly mobile website provides users a universal shopping cart that lets you start an order from your BlackBerry or PC and continue it from another device. You can also manage your account information or return products from the mobile site.

I really like this trend of retailers offering a total mobile experience. Using a desktop shopping site even with the new WebKit browser is weak at best. I think Mark Wilson, Bluefly’s Director of eCommerce Product Development, said it best:

“We understand that shoppers make their purchasing decisions on the go,” Wilson says. “We want to be there when they do—wherever they do.”

You can just punch in your address and it will show you the address and a Google Maps of your polling place. When I tried it Google got the address right but the Google Map was of downtown so it looks like they might have some bugs…

I did not even know there were web streams available for all of these channels but Yesterberry has collected quite a few of them. I was blown away with the selection but it could be I just never looked that hard for streaming video channels. All of the links are user submitted so the catalog has really grown. There are also quite a few streaming radio stations in their catalog for you to choose from.

In other words if you have a unlimited data plan and are into streaming TV and Radio check out www.yesterberry.com from your BlackBerry and hit the TV or Radio menu links. You can read more about the site at this thread on CrackBerry forums. The site is totally free but Yesterberry does accept donations for which they give you a login and extra abilities but free accounts still have access to all the content.

I am not sure how many of you can afford to shop at Bloomingdales but the new site features user reviews where you can both read and contribute reviews about products you own or plan on purchasing. Turns out that Yahoo decided to do an about face and replace the app with a homescreen launcher that simply takes you to the mobile Yahoo Fantasy Football page. WOOT! Essentially they created a shortcut button. I won’t go into the merits of homescreen shortcuts but if you want to stay on top of your Y! Fantasy Football League you can download the launcher in app world at the link below:

The mobile website works pretty well on the WebKit browser in the Torch but I tried it on a friends 9650 and the whole experience went to hell in a hand basket.

Every few months or even years RIM suddenly remembers about its mobile.blackberry.com help portal. Jay let us know that RIM just updated it again with a newer style along with more free ringtones and some nice Love BlackBerry wallpapers. I did not get a chance to dig into it fully but it has not changed that drastically.

Still it blows my mind that RIM is not more active on their MAIN mobile BlackBerry website. They still have no themes available for new devices and don’t even link to their own official blogs and social networking sites from what I can see. The first link is oddly for “Search the Internet” which anybody could do from the BlackBerry Browser GoTo screen. Do users really need a link to Google? Were they struggling to find Yahoo.com? They also no longer have any free games available which really bums me out.

TripAdvisor launched a new mobile view of their website so you can easily browse the site from your BlackBerry. The mobile version is still in beta and is available in 17 countries in 11 different languages. Supposedly it also works with GPS but I could not get that feature to work.

You can view the mobile website just by heading to www.tripadvisor.com from your BlackBerry Browser. You will automatically be redirected.

• Search by Athlete and Olympic Sport
