cp6169 has just scored and posted some screenshots that confirm the new data plans coming out for Sprint and the BlackBerry 8130 they plan to release this month. The screenshots speak for themselves:

Simon at BBcool just tipped me off to a new Facebook application that will be coming out for BlackBerry devices. This is an application designed by RIM so it should integrate nicely with your BlackBerry. It seems that RIM is really serious about penetrating the consumer market. This is going to give the T-Mobile Sidekick [...]

I just gleaned some interesting info from an article by Daisuke Wakabayashi of Reuters about Microsoft’s latest attempt to compete with RIM.
“The Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 will allow technology administrators to send applications to phones, control security and generally simplify management of devices.” Microsoft wants to be for the high-end mobile device [...]

I have been asked numerous times about which frequency(s) each BlackBerry device supports. RIM has now made this easy by publishing a knowledgebase article that specifies every Berry since the DataTAC 850 combined with the frequencies and technology that it supports. As a side note it also mentions the current BlackBerry OS’s available for each [...]

Previously I had mentioned that I was looking into alternative BES hosting companies and last month I changed to TheMessageCenter.com and have been quite happy since. This past week they sent me an email that their already generous 500MB of storage would be increased for all users to 1GB for free. Personally I think this [...]

RIM has done a great job of breaking down the 2 way reconciliation features for BIS users in an easy to consume chart. The new 2 way reconciliation has made quite a few people happy but until now there was no distinctive list of the supported features on each type of hosted BIS email account [...]

I found this great Knowledgebase resource detailing the BlackBerry features available to Nokia BlackBerry Connect users on a company BES. I had a few people asking me for this previously since their company was handing out Nokia 9300’s and they wanted E-series devices. Of notable interest is the fact that the comparison on the Knowledgebase [...]

Since I am on a BES I usually do not notice the BIS outages but users have been emailing me for the last hour non stop. It seems like deja vu but RIM has experienced another BIS outage. I really wish RIM would provide us a little more transparency on what the issue is and [...]

Now this is a problem I have been faced with a few times. It is not that simple to change an email address from a BES account to a BIS account especially in regards to the desktop manager installation. RIM has just posted a great tutorial in the Knowledgebase on exactly how to switch between [...]

Mark Baard of the Boston Globe has confirmed one of the questions I had about the BlackBerry 8820. I know it is not a much touted feature but with the coming of WiFi I was hoping to see BlackBerry service available without a data plan. I know this would drasticly hurt RIM’s monetary plans but [...]
