The guys over at Metermor just let us know that they have launched their product Metearmor on kickstarter! Utilizing a new material, Glass-PET, they are touting this as the world’s strongest screen protector. What Metearmor aims to do with its unique material is to solve the problems of tempered glass screen protectors that are easily cracked and anti-shock screen protectors that scratch too easily.
According to them, the Metearmor is designed with an outer glass-like layer and an inner PET plus silicon soft layer. This is what they call the Glass-PET material which is a unique blend of both plastic and glass fibers. The result is the strongest screen protection possible.
A shatterproof, scratch proof screen would really just mean a longer lasting and nicer looking device in the long run.
Right now, Metearmor is offering this for just CAD$12 with shipping per piece (for early birds) on kickstarter. For just a little more (CAD$38), you can even get the screen protectors with a custom message imprinted on it!
For the moment, they support a wide range of devices, including the BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic. According to them, support for the BlackBerry Z10 (plus BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982) and BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 is in the works as well. I hope that the BlackBerry Slider will too, be supported eventually!
